I believe people will continue to pay for the Disney experience Fred Griffin

Those who go will spend far more on food, hotels, plane tickets, etc.

I think it's Floridians who are thinking twice about going to there ... I haven't been in a long time. For those who come here to vacation, it's a cost they may swallow up and scarifice maybe something else for it which could affect other (smaller) attractions.  I have no idea of how a family with even just two kids can afford it.

It is getting out of hand! My son has a time share there and we stayed with him. The two of us spent over $2,000 for the week with free accomodations. Absurd and too expensive, but people were thick as thieves and the new Avatar ride in Animal Kingdom had over a 3 and 1/2 hour wait. Go figure!

I inquired during my recent visit to CA what a one day weekday ticket to one park would be and it was $125. I had heard they were going up but that is a huge investment for a young family.

I have no idea...it's been at least 35 years since I was in Disney World. To me the ticket prices seem obscene... but then what do I know?

Do you know what really affect attendance at the Florida theme parks?

The SuperBowl.

Instead of Disney they say....let see whose kneeling today.

Lego Land, Universal, and more theme parks coming, suggest their is room for more competitors.

So, if a tourist comes to see Elon send another Tesla into space, and the launch is canceled on the pad, will they opt for Orlando? Now that could be a win-win.

Not sure. I went 23 years ago when Pleasure Island still existed.

I'd never return to Florida unless I'm catching a cruise, so Disney is not a factor.

Disney is now the 800 pound Gorilla who can do what it wants. Yes prices are too high at all Disney attractions sites including food trinkets etc. With the acquisition of Marvel and Lucas-films....He who has the gold rules. Will it affect Real Estate...Yes. Will people go elsewhere? NO. Disney is a go-to!

No but you have to take out a home equity loan to go there now with 2 kids. What is Annaheim charging? Bet it's the same. It won't matter.

The prices are outrageous. We have four children; it was pretty prohibitive. However, I think tourists will continue to flock there.

Fred Griffin I think people who are planning a vacation at Disney World won't care much about how much it costs. I'm sure it's the locals who are complaining. I don't think it will affect the real estate market unless someone moves to Florida because of Disney then they will become a local complainer.

As someone who grew up in Central FL and who was there in October, I think if they're going to raise ticket prices, they need to have more value behind it. Disney needs some updating. It was like stepping back in time. We got stuck on the carousel of progress and heard the beginning/ending song like 15 times before we could get off. The lines are too long. We got there first thing in the morning (not with the hotel guest but, when it opened to public), got our 3 fast passes and found our Space Mountain fp was for 11:15. What we didn't realize until it was too late is that it was for 11:15pm! It took a minimum of an hour to get food at lunchtime from a quick fast food stand. So, maybe raising ticket prices will make the park less busy so people can enjoy their day a bit. I don't think it will affect Real Estate in Orlando.
