Hindsight is always 20-20! Had I started with a coach right out of the gate, I would be doing a whole lot more traveling right now!

I say begin with a coach right away and if you are willing to surrender, listen and follow a good coach's guidance, the cost will be covered in NO TIME!

New Agents:  Unless an office has good mentors, in-house training, or a Broker looking over the shoulders of new agents, I would suggest it right away.

Veteran agents:  If your career has hit a lull, your sales are down, etc., consider a coach.

What Brenda Mayette said... but in reality, I don't recommend coaches... most of them "coach" by rote and formula.

Right away, and keep upgrading your coach as you grow.

At KW we are automatically put into the coaching program and as our needs grow they will suggest that we move to different coaches to fit our goals and needs.

I feel a good broker coaches their agents consistantly. Small offices can go this easily. I am seeing large offices offer coaches and or mentors on a personal or a group setting. Some even charge for them. As a broker, i include it to my agents as part of them working with me.

My broker, 32 years ago, was my first and only coach. Today he is retired and one of my good friends.

Later, the manager for 15 years, I coached my agents, new, middle of the road and high producers.

My answer to your question, work for a broker/manager who is vested in your success and there will no need to spend money for coach.

when God was a child in 1978, my Broker/owner was my coach.... I was a listing agent, and he accompanied me to two of them.... his personality sucked, so I did the rest myself..... the more you do, the better you become at that task....

I am starting a coaching program in my company. I have new agents, 1 year agents and some that have been in the business several years. It depends if they want to raise their business to the next level. It is more about their mindset and commitment.

Never.  I do not ever recommend an agent get coaching. I recommend they align with a good mentor.

I don't think I ever recommended a coach as such. I have a pet peeve about people that only talk about a subject-matter and 'don't do', or never did it recently, or are not subject-matter experts in that field from extensive successful experience.

But I do recommend training in between the real actual performance.

I don't recommend coaches. Each person is different, some are coachable, others aren't. Each person must research and decide for themselves.

The agent has already figured a few things out. Have some grasp in how the business works and is able to generate sufficient, although meager, income to pay most of their bills.  And their conversation indicates they are sabotaging their own success in the way they think or what they do.

OR, they are addicted to shiny things and I know their money is destined to be redistributed.

Anytime! Coaches are for all the different parts of our journey. I am big on coaching. I hire coaches for many different aspects of life and business just as I hire the right training coaches for my son as he develops his baseball skill levels. All the greatest entreprenuers have all had coaches.
