Sunny Brstina, While this is an excellent platform to generate ideas, learn, and even have your say, the Rain is not a very progressive site when it comes to helping each other by utilizing good SEO/backlinking/guest posting.

I have only found a small pocket of Rainers who are willing to employ this approach. Here is an excellent example, written by a fellow Rainer.

Hi Sunny Brstina Yes, I would love to be a guest blogger on your website. There is a specific way in which the backlinking needs to work. I can go over those rules with you. 

Take Anita Clark up on her offer. We work with her as well for some of my clients who actually understand and "get" backlinking. 

You will not find a lot of support on ActiveRain for backlinking because most agents don't understand correct backlinking tactices. Just like Anita says, only a very small group of agents here will put in the time and the effort in high level backlinking practices. 

    AR "experts" on this topic include Anita Clark (who has already answered your question) and Katerina Gasset and Tammy Emineth and Debbie Gartner 

     My two cents worth:  You want backlinks from sites with a high score domain authority.  

If I had the time, I would consider it.

This is a good idea.  I've done this a bunch w/ select people and try to stick to higher domain authority sites and people I know.  (Note: I'm not an agent).  I've posted on Anita Clark 's site and that's a great offer.

Unfortunately, my website crashed last month (ironically due to too much traffic) and I've been spending my "extra time" on fixing the pictures, so I've put guest blogging (that's the term you should be using, BTW) on hold for a couple of months.

you should join this FB group https://www.facebook.com/groups/realestatebloggers/ .  In there, you'll find more progressive and collaborative bloggers who do more guest posting and links.

This is a very good idea for agents if done correctly.

Few things to keep in mind:

- Don't overdo it. 10 exchanges is okay, 100 not so much.

- If you offer a post on your website with do-follow links, make sure you get the same in return. No-follow links are ok, but if they offer you no-follow links, do the same.

- Have a calendar event or reminder every month or so to make sure your post is still up and links are still ok.

- Check the submitted post in a service like Copyscape to make sure it is unique. You can also use Google by searching several portions of the text in quotes.

- Be careful linking to your web site with too perfect anchor text, and using the same anchor text in too many posts.

 - Don't just link to your website's home page, link to other pages also, especially city/area pages.

Hi Sunny, I wish you the best of luck in this.  I do understand the value of backlinks, but I'm not much into writing unique content that only goes out on one outlet, so I will pass.

sorry, but while I don't mind sharing links to others relevant to my clients posts I'm not about to have someone out of my market posing to my blog on my site.  And I don't think that's what a "backlink" actually is. 

This is something I may consider.  I am working on my WordPress sites right now. As soon as that work is done I will circle back. 

Not sure it's something I want to do, but I wouod check with Anita Clark 

I used to have hundreds of reciprocal backlinks on my website. I'm not currently doing that but thank you for the offer.

Best venue for that was sites that were designed to have an exchange with like-minded marketers.
