That said, I would simply tell the vendor that I have my electronic signature service covered - and thank you.

Perhaps tongue in cheek, I would thank him for the call and explain that I have a service I am very satisfied with.  Ignore the broker. That may bother the broker more than if you called.

There are some salespeople who use sleazy tactics and this may be one of them.  If not interest, let the comment roll off your back.  The principal broker, if they did refer you, may be using it as a tactic to get you to call them and they'll solicit you to join them.  Who knows..

If it seems that the vendor is not being truthful about the outside broker having suggested he make contact, I'd leave that vendor behind.  No one likes a liar.

Geez, we are a suspicious lot!  We've had co-op committees with Realtors/Agents from many different companies  exploring differing "tools" of the trade. We had an "Ipad" group, "Top Producer" group, etc.  Lighten up you guys.

Tell the vendor you have multiple choices already and do not need his services. Then sign up the other broker for AARP at his/her residence (or any other pesky mailing company), or some graphic magazine and have it sent to the office. No need to contact that person, I think the media will speak for itself.
