On the phone I try to cut it short, I ask all necessary questions and try to get to the appointment or move into exchange of emails. My first appointment in person is the longest, since it is when we decide what we are going to do and if we are a good feet for each other.

Don't ask. I'm chatty, my clients are chatty, we go off on tangents . . . If I want to cut it short I can, and often do to stay on schedule. But it can also be helpful for me to let them go on, within reason. I have a great memory, and some of what I hear that gets filed away comes in very handy.

More than one hour. I will give prospective buyers/sellers all the time they need to "tell me their story."

An hour or so on the phone ... but up to 3 hours in person.  My husband says I'm too patient.  I say ... if they want to talk I have two ears!

I've had a 90-minute call or ten before! I let them talk all the want - the more they talk, the more I learn!

I wouldn't know, but if I had to guess, an hour or so. I give my clients all the time they need-in my available time window- as long as we're moving the needle.

Several hours. Sometimes people need to hear things several times in several different ways before they reach a level of understanding.

As long as it take to close the deal.

With investors it can go long especially if they are buying multiple homes.

I can't even guess... I don't recall any extraordinarily long phone calls, but I do give them some time, if I have the time.. If I don't I will politely ask if I can call back as I have an appointment scheduled and will get back to them asap.

I'm guessing about an hour or so. Usually at the beginning of learning about the buyer, some people are more long winded than others.

Have had the hour long marathon while mostly listening to a yankity yak don't talk back. I listen but am editing a video, taking images through photoshop and working a farm list while listening. Just had a large farm sale to a nice buyer that was long winded but it all panned out in a cash sale. Let them talk and guide them the best you can when they are qualified to buy and just take more time to do it.

I usually try to stick to the details, and feel an hour in most cases are too long.

I did 4 hours of facetime showing with a client in another state.  They bought a 700K house

It has been years but I once had a 3 1/2 hour call with a buyer reviewing a contract line by line.

After about a half hour I want an appt. to continue the conversation. Time is money so let's put it to good use face to face.

1-2 hours, but we toured 3 houses per city in two cities that day and wrote an offer on one, so it was a good day!

if you make the appointment, you must do the job properly....it takes time.... 

that's another reason we are listing agents.... our buyers are our sellers...

Just this week i spent an hour with a buyer on the phone, they are relocating here and they were a referral from a Rainer. I answered their questions, they became comfortable and I sent them 9 listing sheets to review.
