I cannot imagine how my business would have unfolded had I not joined AR. It can be a game changer if you are willing to put in the work.

I would say you'll most likely get more support and a better education on ActiveRain than anywhere, including classes, books or your Designated Broker.  We love to share our knowledge and learn from each other.  It's hard to find that within your own local association because of the competion factor.  We don't hold anything back.  You want to get an education in real estate and make some meaningful connections?  This is the place.

Well, I wouldn't say this:

I'd talk about the benefits of networking with and learning from peers from across the country.

No. I'm possessive. Not encouraging anyone! LOL

Remember the 1st time you went into the fitness center?

Those 'experts' were getting the most out of those machines. But those machines can be very intimidating. I was hard to transition from 'what have I gotten myself into' to the enjoyment of making fat cry.

Some of those experts are on their 30 or 60 minute drill and didn't have time for you. That can be discouraging, even insulting, but your greater purpose allowed you to overlook those things and stay focused on what can help you to your goal, help you on your fitness journey.

Do you have a goal? 

You can get help on Active Rain and advise from those who have been in the business for years, figured a few things out, but some are on their 30 minute drill and will offer little that is actionable. There are also those who have time for you.

The reason to stay, the reason that is most significant in binding people together is common/shared experience. We were all new at one time and  had that "Now what?" expression.

You will need to figure out what works for you, but the Active Rain experience could show you more options. WHAT EVER the question, you get ten yes's and ten no's and 10 I don't do that and 10 I am too busy to give a meaningful answer.

It is what it is. But it is often assuring to know you are traveling your journey with those who have been there. You will get out of AR exactly what you invest.

What James Dray said... but I stopped encouraging any agents, new or old, to do anything... because they never do... it has to come from them.

They should give a good try to see if it grows their business but they need to be paying members to receive the best benefit of the site.

The results. After referrals,  My active rain blog is my leading source of new clients. Then you have the ability to learn an build relationships woth the ther people of AR.

I would tell them about my experience being a member, and how much I learn and what a great networking opporutnity it is... they can decide if they want to join, or not.

I would say, that this is a wonderful site where you will meet folks from other states and Canada, you will give and receive input on real estate questions or situations, and you will have the opportunity to do blogs on real estate and other topics (some are just For Fun!) Corey Birger.  You will not find a better group of honest, interesting, and fun folks - it's a Sharing & Caring Group.  I have never, ever, been disappointed by ARer's!

I would say it's a place to learn, share, market and network, if and only if, you become a RAINMAKER.... otherwise you're P_ _ S _ _ G in the wind!!

I would encourage them to try the free membership to determine if they can develop a daily blogging habit and to learn much from the materials posted by others.

That they will learn a lot, make new friends among colleagues, and reach out public audience through their posts. 

It is where the big boys and girls learn from their fellow members!

It's a wonderful place to network and learn, and a tremendous resource to business.

I think it is a friendlier place to get your blogging feet wet. Technically you really do have to know a few things to be good at it or make it easier on yourself. They have AR U now also with great videos. 

When you say new agent do you mean new to RE or new to blogging? You have to figure out what you're going to say.

I have tried, Corey.  I have tried.  I've gotten a few agents who've joined... but haven't stayed and haven't participated.

Clearly whatever I'm saying to encourage new agents to join ain't working for me, is it?

I have encouraged a number of new and seasoned agents as well as lenders to join AR and I told them that it's a great place to meet others in real estate and get information and encouragement from a great group of people.

I let them talk to the two people who I referred last year to ActiveRain

I did attempt to encourage people but they ignored me. So now I don't.
