I only remember the last time in 2013. I was in Albuquerque visiting the Balloon Festival and we took a day to go up into the mountains. There was a parking lot that would have required people to buy a ticket at a machine and there was a note "machine closed due to government shut down". Free parking for all and we had a great day to remember.

Yeah. I remember when it happened in the 90s. Same result. Nothing. Same as now. We just need to keep voting them out as they fail. They should not get raises for failing. We don't!

I showed a military couple homes this afternoon and business seemed as usual. I have a government employee that is planning to come look at houses next week if the furlough continues. They all know they will get their pay eventually.

I do remember when it happened before and there was more anxiety then. Not much now.

What annoys me is they lay-off "non-essential" employees then give them their back pay when a budget gets passed.  It's like an extra vacation.  I think they ought to lay off ALL non-essential employees permenantly.  Don't get me started.

It is beyond common sense that democrats only policy plan is to obstruct any bill, idea, plan the GOP puts forward. I say shut down every one of their pay. Give them the same insurance the public must use. put in term limits. Lock them in a room, take away their social media and they can not come out until they solve all of the messes they created.

There was lots of rhetoric about going over the financial cliff.

Doomsday and predictions of foreign investors fleeing with their money would cause a bankrupt treasury and collapse of the economy.

We found out it took Bank of America to cause that.

However, as a result, we did inherit a slow growing cancer called sequestration from which no recovery has occurred.

The real issue being created it the 'Wolf' problem.

At what point when we hear the cry will we ignore at our own peril.

Makes Bitcoin look more stable everyday.

Now, lets think about long term.
I don't see impact on FHA or VA lending...but mortgage brokers may be more informed.

Now what happens if access to FEMA databases make current flood zone status hard to verify?

Back ground checks?

Immigrations status?

I can see where 'shutdown' can start a chain of unintended consequences.

Post office and IRS shutter their doors.

But the citizen must file on time.
