I like the old fashioned way. But I digress:

I do not believe in violence of words in business, I just have no interest being around toxic people. Do you know that anger, sadness, etc. negative emotions empower those you direct them towards and weakens you. 

Well, I do use F.U. but not in RE conflicts. 

Bless your heart comes to mind.  It's our go to term here in the south and it has so many meanings.

I am with Bruce Walter and others.  We only empower others and harm our self.  I've said things like ... this is not working for me .... this is not a good fit.

Like Mr. Wonderful on Shark Tank is known to say ... you are dead to me. However, I have never and doubt I would ever, say that to someone's face. I think it and say it to myself ... they are dead to me. 

What about "Let's agree to disagree"? 

I am digging on Anthony Acosta - ALLATLANTACONDOS.COM's "Bless Your Heart." That is a pretty good one.

So, I JUST (minutes ago) checked in on FB with one of my friend's daughters who is attending Furman University and that is what came to mind! Great minds, Fred Griffin & Dorie Dillard!

As for a polite way to say FU, I just say a little prayer for them & say something like, "I'm sorry you feel that way." - it's their loss but, I won't get caught up in drama or their negativity. 

You can just say it straight to family or a friend & they'll get your point. Generally, I don't like getting baited into verbal altercations when there's no depth to the relationship. 

I respond with  GBU:      GOD Bless You!

If you retort back in anger you have given the power to that person plus you will have your stomach in a knot for hours.  It is not worth it!

I've seen some great ones lately but they can't be repeated here.  I'm with Anthony Acosta - ALLATLANTACONDOS.COM with "Bless your heart" though.  I've used it many, many times.

Many believed Dick Cheney's debate with John Edwards contained a clever diss when Cheney briefly KILLED John Edwards with kindness, some say that was legendary.

Another time was when George H.W. Bush looked at his watch (...basically his actions says; I have no time for this, I have more important things to do) in a debate with Bill Clinton. That action backfired.

John Bear There is no classy way of saying it. Lyn Sims has a good response. Out side of real estate just ignore them and walk away.

"FU"is a pretty clear and definitive statement.. I don't think there is any "classy" way to say it..  Why not just say it if that's what you mean???

Just walk away and let it go.

Usually "Why do you ask?"  works.  Or you can just say "I'm sorry that is classified information disseminated on a need to know basis.  I don't acknowledge that you need to know." 

Be aware, what you are trying to avoid is the shame associated with a punch in the nose.

It seems for most of society, there is no shame in being vulgar. But you want to be vulgar a better way. That does not fix the rot within.

So, the proper response must me one that only after departing do they realize they have been diss'd.  I advise being keenly aware of ones ability to flee should the other choose to 'stand their ground' and shoot your *ss.

Then, it is of value to understand other non-lethal or violent consequences that may result from a lack of self control.

I would look them directly in the eye....with that look that says "I've already won' and say 'Sure."

That's the American way of saying NO.

This is a classless thought.

I'm afraid that we're not a good match here (throw in goal, objective, whatever). Then just keep shaking your head yes while they are looking at you.

Really like Anthony Acosta - ALLATLANTACONDOS.COM's reply, and I would be 'one' who would have taken that as a compliment - HA!  Good to know!!  I have never said this to anyone, be it friend, family, or client.  I do not know of a classy way to say it, so I'm not much help.  Considering I'm at most appointments, meetings, and Open Houses with Roger, my 'reply' would be to just turn around and walk away.  Yup!  'Chicken' here.  Since I know Roger would not say that, I would be better off just leaving, knowing he would not think that was professional . . .

As others have said, what we say in the south is "Bless your little heart." and of course we do it with a smile. 

Being kind can do more than more anger

I believe those words are not useful in real estate, but with friends, could be.
