If we didn't live on acreage surrounded by woods, with no neighbors in sight, LOL, then I would TOTALLY love to have that guy as my neighbor.  I would be out there every night, looking at every single detail.  We would need black out shades, then, but what a small price to pay!

I love shiny things lit up during the holiday season. We have some wonderfully decorated horse properties -- fabulous at night because this is rural AZ and we don't need no freaking street lights. 💖

Whoa . . .  mama!!  No, we do not, and many in our community do not decorate or just do a wreath.  Many are snowbirds and not in town for that Holiday, or they do not celebrate it, or they cannot physically do outside decorating.    Now that being said Nathan Gesner, we do put up tiny white lights in the back patio and on the front arch for the front patio, and I do an outside tree and a door wreath.  So, maybe (HA!) on our street, it's 'me'?!  Who knew . . .

We have a lighting contest in town every year.  The more decorations, the merrier... and especially if there is music syncronized with the motion of the lights.

I do not. Most of what I see, IMHO, is tastefully decorated. Some people just like to go "all in" and have so much fun doing it because it makes them feel good and it brings joy to many.

nope... although a few houses down the street they have a huge inflatable Santa in the front yard (must be 12 feet tall) and every night it plays music.  After about 1 week it can be a bit much... but is festive.

We tend to over decorate the INTERIOR of our home but do little to nothing outside Nathan Gesner however the daycare a block down uses every square foot of their home and yard to decorate for any holiday.

Dang!  We had one in our neighborhood, complete with music, but he didn't do it last year (citing cost issues).  I doubt he will do it again.  There are a couple streets, one in Moorpark and one in the Valley (the famous "Candycane Lane") that go all out.

I think that neighbor would need to be disclosed under the "neighborhood nuisance" line of the Seller Property Questionnaire out here.  That could sure be a pain in the arse if you're trying to sleep across from it and the traffic generated would be annoying as hell.

YES!!! Not quite like your example, but we have a neighbor that decorated their yard for every "holiday," ie, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's, Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Veteran's Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, you name it. I know I missed a few in there.

Nobody overdoes it at our house (though we also only have a few neighbors). But, I got a text from my neighbor last year mad (she was sort of joking, but mostly seriously) that we had done our Christmas lights before Thanksgiving. We generally don't do that but we had to because we were going out of town for Thanksgiving and then I was coming home but John wasn't so it would have been mid-December before they went up otherwise. -Kasey
