Yes, I have a custom word press based site.  I like it because I am in control of the site and can change anything at any time without having to ask someone else to do it, and most likely be charged...  I used a company called Global Graphics... I customized it based on other sites I saw, so picked a few features from 3-4 other sites and combined it into one site..
