Promoting is marketing. Marketing is what we do in order to get in front of people who we can sell our services to. Marketing is 80% of the work and then sales is only 20%. The more you get good at marketing the less "selling' you have to do. The marketing puts in the prospect's mind that they want to use you as their agent. It is all about positiioning and getting your big idea out there and then utilizing a unique mechanism so that the prospect knows you are a perfect fit.
Facebook happens to work the best for me along with word of mouth and referrals.
