I spent two hours this morning dealing with a fraudulent charge via PayPal. Shut down my PayPal account and Chase closed my credit card and issued a new one. The charge via PayPal was done by an unregistered account. Sent as a gift to someone. My credit card number was manually entered.

My accounts are frozen with all 3 bureaus.

We have periodically had our credit cards used for fraudulent purchases. So common we just report, cancel the cards, get the credit back for the fraudulent purchase and move on with new cards.

I have a very good friend that own a credit reporting company. After the Equifax problem he told me to do the following:

Go to Equifax and log in fot there protecting site(it's free)

Sign Up to Life Lock for an account.

Check your financial accounts at least weekly.

I did as he said. So far , so good.
