not a good strategy for Boston Agents... but we had four open house events and two out of 4 sold!! good weekend for us and the Sox!! hope it was for you, too!

It may be the same in Boston as it is here in Charlotte during Carolina Panther games - no one shows up! I agree - why would you?!

Just to add some context, Superbowl is a great day for an open house.

Sports are not all things to all people. If they were we'd never have a proper time to hold an open house. 

Someone is Always looking...if you didnt have tickets to the Game..might as well sell something!

I'd rather sit in an open house with no visitors, than have to watch a baseball game. Besides it gives me a break from everything going on at my house.

My sense is that some people simply are not into sports ... of any kind. 

There are people out there who are not baseball fans. In Central Oregon, we have "golf widows" who love to check out homes while their husbands are golfing. Probably the same exists in Boston for baseball "widows" and there are opportunities for agents willing to miss the game for a potential sale.

I think planning an open house with any sporting event won't do much good.

Serious buyers will be out looking. Do you really want to mess with a looky-loo? 

Just like winter. If you need a home you will be looking in the dead of winter. 

You can say that EVERYONE is a fan, but I'd disagree, unless it was a requirement by law. 

While the guys are watching sports,  the women spend their money - easy peasy!

I don't know. I suspect the majority of the public finds home buying more important than a sporting event.

Not everybody is a baseball fan. I have heard agent say that open houses are very productive during the Super Bowl. I say all open houses are a roll of the dice regardless.

I would have an open house without hesitation or work with a motivated client. It has more meaning to me than watching a game:) Sport is not for everyone. But I respect everyone who would prefers a game. 

I have no idea... then again, I don't do open houses and I don't do play off games.

This can definitely be a good Marketing Strategy because they know lots of folks will be out and about, is my first thought Martin Kalisker.  I've done Open Houses on Holiday Weekends, as well as on Bowl Game Days.  Many people are driving or walking or biking around before, during half-times, and after games or get-togethers.  I've had groups come in together, because some are visitors and others already live in the community.  And for those that are not into that particular game or sport, it's a 'regular' weekend day for Open Houses!

   That would be equivalent to holding an Open House here in Tallahassee, when there is an FSU Seminoles football game, either home or away.  Nobody will show up.
