Because more people know and, sadly, trust zillow/trulia than NAR.  Like Fred Griffin said, NAR's days are numbered.

What does WSJ licensed by NAR to operate Realtor.com mean, Bill? Realtor.com was purchased some years back by Rupert Murdoch, who also owns The WSJ. I don't know where NAR comes in. As Rupert owns both Realtor.com and WSJ, I'd expect more quotes from the economist at Realtor.com.

Apparently they give more interesting quotes.

NAR has become a "union" with required membership and less of a resource for professionals.

Zillow and Trulia have done a better job in branding themselves as the experts in all things real estate. NAR has to do more.

Sounds like the public has more trust in those two companies.

In the end, it is just another opinion. Everyone should tend to their own backyard and at the same time, have eyes and ears open

This is one reason we are floundering because professionals in the profession still want to deal with 3rd party nonprofessional sites

Some of us would not miss the final demise of NAR.

The same newspaper identified a top realtor of America. He is a discounted realtor. Why is that?

Z & T are very popular with the public.

I would assume they have some kind of arrangement with Z. and certainly not because they have faith in Z. data.

WSJ understands if you control the information, (narrative) you control the market.

The Evil empire has displaced all other voices on consumer real estate by owning the dominate voices. The one exception is RealyTrac.

And real estate agents continue to support the Evil Empire in collusion with their associations and franchises and will find themselves hapless when the Empire of Evil Intent brings into reality the goal they have supported for over a decade. 

Only one road block exists. That is a block chain solution that leaves NAR and its members pounding sand.

Newscorp is the owner and if they want to quote Zillow I have no problem with that. I also tend to stay focused on my business and not waste time being concerned.
