training first....then the availability of mentoring ... and like minded broker/owner.... interview that broker/owner as he is interviewing you... don't be afraid to ask direct questions.... get the bottom line...

As someone who just finished the same training program that you are enrolled in I strongly encourage you to rather than ask these questions, research older questions and look at the answers that have already been provided to previous questioners.  You’ll find the answers you’re looking for and not incur the wrath of those who have seen the same questions asked time and time again. 

Glad to see a name and a photo!  Training is #1, what you're learning now has precious little to do with selling real estate.

Anthony, it's not always about brand or big box store. Let me give you a short list of things to look for:

1. Education - what do they offer

2. Leads - do they offer any

3. Costs - what are the costs of linking to a brokerage

4. Relationships - are there opportunities to build relationships

Join a company that has amazing training. Training should not be an empty buzzword. It needs to be a culture.

Compatiblity with your goals and the Broker's goals....ask lots of questions to find that right fit.....

Why not do some research on previous questions and answers and write a post about what YOU think are the most important qualities for YOU. You'll learn so much more that way.

Someone other interesting in charging you a fee. 95% brokers claim they will train you and give you leads. Most agents leave quickly because of lack of commitment.

This is a personal preference. Everyone has different needs in their business which is why there are so many brokerages and so many different business models.  Of course the broker should be knowledgeable, available and honest. But what are YOU going to need?  Mentorship? Coaching? Training? Office Space? Signs & Business Cards? Leads and clients handed to you? A Team? Receptionist/Transaction Coordinator Available?  The question isn't what is most important, the question is What is most important to YOU.

What technology does the broker provide? Compare monthly desk fees and what suppport and services are provided with those fees. The way I see it, a brokerage is just a place to hang your license, so make sure you get the most mileage for the fees and splits you will pay.

Whatever qualities are important to YOU! We're not all created the same or we'd only have one brokerage with whom to hang our licenses - find one that suits YOUR needs!

Sit down with that person face to face.  How does that meeting go?  Do you "share a connection"?

Depend on if your new or experienced. New agents need training and a lot of it from the broker or mentors.

I'll second Barbara Todaro!

There are many qualities that will be offered and are important.

However, the real question is "What measurable qualities should I look for in a broker?"

Honesty, integrity, training, mentor-ship and even personality are all important but not measurable.  

However, all of these produce 'fruit' that can be measured. You can spot a good gardener by the produce of their garden, not what they say about gardening.

If you believe this is a reasonable approach, I would suggest you need the answer to two questions and two questions only. The produce can then be assessed and the quality of the broker, brokerage and franchise can be properly measured.

1. Home any licenses are sheltered with that office.

2. Total transactions sides of that office.

From these two responses you can inspect the fruit and understand, if it is bad, you should not expect the outcome to be different for you.

One that will have a sit down meeting ones a week for your first 12 weeks.
