I have not followed the subject here but I've heard rumblings of such restrictions.  I guess some neighborhood residents don't appreciate the transient nature of such an enterprise.

If they are, I'm not too aware of it as I don't follow this subject closely. But I would be surprised if they weren't.

I heard about it. I think, every one tries to get a chunk of a successful business and it is quite natural. There is nothing new in it. I'm sure McDonald( just an example of many others)  went through similar issues.

Yes.  The county requires a tax be paid (oddly my most read article... ever, it gets me listed on google above airbnb.com for our area!!!!).

There was a nice article out here last week about a person who refused to rent to an Asian couple via AirBnB and got hit with a fair housing violation, a huge fine, plus community service AND has to take an asian studies course in the local community college (seems a bit excessive to me).

Our city council did this a year ago and limited the number of short term rentals to a 200 yard radius complete with many licensing and other costly regulations.

I am trying to block eMail from my politicians...... I get a report from them more often than I expected.

I can see where a problem occurs so I am fully with regulation. There are condos here in my area that are renting out rooms & acting like hotels. That is not good for the other neighbors in the buiding. 

I think it should be regulated or stopped.

We have some in Florida but have not seen anything yet.

CT imposed a 15% hotel-type tax on earnings of airbnb operators. How that is to be reported or monitored, I don't know.

no, our local politicians have their hands filled with other more pressing issues....

I haven't paid much attention but I imagin they are. There are restrictions about vacation rentals in many HOAs and even the town is getting involved with limiting where these can be done, especially near the beaches.

Yes and as it turns out, so far it seems like a good thing to keep the peace.

We did have a "banned" scare late last year into January 2017. See 's posts rthis year, his ADU's in part address this.

Yes as NH has a rooms and meal tax they need to be collecting for the state
