Hopefully this agent has a firm grasp on reality and enough income to fuel their business and life's expenses for at least six months.  As soon as the discussion about paid vacation, the benefits package and gas reimbursement enters the picture -- you know you have "lost" them.

& Host of Postcards From Success Podcast

I got it today on my Podcast from our guests Brian & Lynn (managers) from The F.C. Tucker Company Keystone office:

  1. Allow everyone to win. Sometimes getting the best result for your client means allowing someone else to think they got one over on you, and that’s okay if you know you’re getting the result your client wants.
  2. Do your clients hire you with the hope and expectation that you’ll use the most substantial monetary transaction in their lives to explore and express your personal emotional state?

Always remember you are not the principle — and the transaction belongs to the principles. Your advice matters. Your experience and expertise matter. But you, personally, don’t.

Have her start taking GRI courses and learn how to build a sustainable 'real' business. I also like new agents to have 'case studies' and fill out all kinds of contracts until they really know them top to bottom. And of course prospect prospect prospect.

Decide dear new agent, just how you want to go out.

Expire a pasta death where you lose your fabric and just dissolve and no one notices.

Go out like a ROMAN CANDLE, in all it's glory.

I trust you choose the latter, because the former will leave you $12,000 poorer, owning the IRS and ashamed of burning the bridges to your existing sphere of influence.

Instead, identity that which you are most resistant to doing and do THAT for the next two weeks. If you are unable to master your fear, this is not the place for you. But those two weeks will prove the be the most fundamental of your life regardless of where you end up.

To work from the office as much as possible. This way she can overhear valuable conversations and scripts that seasoned agents are having with their clients. Also, letting others listen in and critique her is invaluable.  In my experience, most agents love to help and share their knowledge.
