Sadly to hear from those telling me those who got shot.

My father in-law had two belly buttons. One is a bullet hole shot from an Arisaka rifle during WW2. He was sent to a field hospital where a new army nurse was assigned to. It was a romantic ending as my mother-in- law was the nurse.

The sad part is 40 years later, he fell down at our house. The wound from years ago through his intestine hurted again.  

Today they both are remembered.

Yes I have. And as with every single similar post and video I see, I cried. I participate as a Home for Heroes affiliate so I can help those who made it back home. All I can do for those who did not, is to remember them and think of them. Not today. But every day. There are a lot of soldiers who did not (and do not even today) make it home alive. They, the ones who returned and the ones who did not, are my heroes.
