I challenge when there is a need to challenge. I don't challenge any rules or comments for the sake of challenging.

Yes & you know that is a truthful answer.
''You can't make me'' is also in there under the rubble.

It's all about understanding and the explanation. I don't click on links from those I don't know and now even from some I do know because it could be a scam!

I'll have to pay attention to this going forward, but I think the answer is that I only want to challenge rules that make no sense to me.
If I see a sign that says "don't climb" on something that obviously looks dangerous, I have no desire to challenge the rule.
When I see something that says "don't touch this spot" I want to touch it to see why. I remember my dad telling me not to touch the top of the canvas tent when it was raining, but he never said why. And I think I probably asked and he either wouldn't respond or said "because I said so." So I touched the top of the tent. The "why" was because the rain will drip through the tent. Oh.
So I only want to challenge rules if the reason for them isn't evident.

Yes, I do feel that I do not want to click the link because I was instructed to do so. I only challenge the things that I feel are inappropriate or not fitting for the situation. Thankfully, I have better things to do with my time than to protest for the sake of protesting.

I typically do not <click> links in Q & A. I did make an exception to that RULE this morning to read the post from a new member. It was worthwhile.

I may 'play the devil's advocate' if I don't understand why the rule is in place or about to be inacted. However, I don't emotionally want to challenge every rule and as long as I understand the rationale for the rule, I comply without hesitation.
As for the link question - when people post 'selfish' links (simply to get visitors to their own blog) or when they are trying to sell us something, I absolutely follow the no-link-click rule here in the Q&A section!
BTW, loved the first-post link you shared yesterday, Annette Lawrence , Palm Harbor, FL 727-420-4041 - did you see it made the Daily email?!! That was definitely a link I was glad I followed!

In the case of clicking links, when I choose not to do so it is because I consider it a risk or I am not the least bit interested in what they have to say. I never click on a link I consider a risk... even it is offers something FREE.

LOL! As a matter of fact, I typically do not click the link because most of them are using a teaser headline and then trying to get you to jump to their blog or web site. However, if they are providing a link for additional information, then I may click.

Subliminal obedience.
Like the bumper sticker on the Budweiser truck that says, "Drink Responsibly". What is the real thought being sent to your mind? Drink! Drink Budweiser!

Not necessarily - my first thought is, "Is this the ONLY way to do this? Is there a better way? Is there a 'magickal application'?"
'Click the link' if it is from someone I don't imagine will zap me with some creepy viral crud, is subject to my mood.

No. Most rules exist for a very good reason, such as "thou shalt not kill." When some rules are unjust/unethical/etc. they need to be broken.

Sometimes it piques my interest - I only click if it is a known person/trusted link. -Kasey
