Not at all!  I've lived here for decades and the only time I needed a contingency plan was when Hurricane Hugo came through Charlotte.  Thankfully, I managed...somehow, some way, with a 16 month old and being 7 months pregnant!!!

I have a whole house generator...and that is my back up plan. Hoping I am home for any kind of severe weather.

Our severe weather is in extreme monsoon rain storms and/or haboobs. Best thing to do is get inside, get off the roads and do NOT cross roads are flooded, just don't do it.

Our severe weather has been our heavy snow this last winter. Many school days were cancelled, and the roads were awful. I have a great snow car, however.  The plan is to allow a lot of time to get anywhere - and watch out for the other guy!!

Of course I live well above any projected storm surge. So, stockpile the necessities with plenty of ammo, and know how to light the grill, keep watch for low land dwellers like snakes, spiders, alligators, boar, coyotes and squatters..

I try to be smart about it and when i hear bad weather is coming I plan to be at home, under cover, car garaged.

We have some storage food and water and are working on self sufficiency (stove, generator, etc) but aren't all there yet.-Kasey

I can deal with snow storm any day and  Erie, PA averages 100+ inches/year.

A tornado could be a problem for me at work as we have no lower level but at home we have a basement William Feela 

      We live a couple of blocks from the Gulf of Mexico (Apalachee Bay).   If it's a category 2 hurricane, with a potential storm surge, we will drive inland.  There is only one single lane highway out of here, so timing will be important, to avoid getting stuck in a slow motion parade of others who are leaving.  

Go to Basement. " Shelter in Place" has become a common term used in this area during emergencies.

There is only one severe weather in my hood: extremely hot.

On those days, I just use a lot of short cold showers and a pool. Every space with AC in it is a safe place:) 

I have had more problems on the road way with bad weather, so no other then find aa underpath.

Out here severe is 40 degrees at night and 100 during the day.  Not really an issue since rain never goes with it.

The only concern in my area is EARTHQUAKES !!!!

Absolutely.  I have seen the devistation first hand and will not let my family be caught unprepared.

I live in a safe area already. Storms that threaten safety are extremely rare.

We have tornado warnings right now in Oklahoma City and we have an underground shelter in the garage.

Everyone should have a plan B for everything to prevent bottom coming up
