That's the only pet we currently have.  One of our neighbors has chickens and horses and another has goats, so we just enjoy them over the fence.  

I enjoy reptiles and amphibians but my husband refuses to have frogs, snakes, turtles & lizards in the house.  Oh well, lol.-Kasey

Rescue cats.   Over the years we have found them in dumpsters, vacant houses, cats that just show up, one cat from a train station, two brother cats from a veterinarian office, one from a Seller that was leaving town, and more.

We have one rescue dog, a terrier of some sort.  Didn't plan on getting a small dog. She has stolen my heart.  Since she was a puppy when I found her she gets along wonderfully with the horses.

I had a poodle for 16 years-we treated her like our sister..We had to put her to sleep and the only thing I could remember is when I looked at her, she was telling us not to go, don't leave me and that stayed with me..So I vowed never to get a pet again because I had such a love for my poodle and it was a sad moment for me..The movie Roots had just came out and we named her Kizzy from the movie..My husband wants a dog but he will never get me to fall for that one..I would be the caretaker..Don't have time..I like dogs..I am not a cat fan..

I am a dog and horse person, and have had  8 dogs over the years John Bear.  Usually we have had '2' at a time, though over the last decade we have only had '1', and then waited a year after Jo died to get Lola.  I have never had my own horse, though have ridden horses when I lived back East.  I have seen tortoises here in the desert, though only know one person who has a turtle as a pet - and that would be 'you'!  :)

We do not have any pets at the present time. With our crazy work schedules and traveling, we didn't think it would be fair to a pet to board or be away from the house for 12-14 hour stretches. When our life changes and settles down, that will be the time.
