I never work Sundays. So 6 days max, occasionally I take a weekday off to date my bride since her random days off are weekdays mostly.
I take long holiday weekends occasionally and I leave on vacation 3-4 times per year-no checking in!
I pity the 24/7 agent. There's no award or reward for that. This is my career, not my life. You'll see many foolish people brag on their 24/7 no boundaries careers...I doubt their effectiveness.
You'd never go to a brain surgeon that is 24/7 answers his own phone and preps the OR himself...would you?

I work when my clients need me to, within reason. Sunday I basically block out. I have a long-standing appointment with my mental health. And the dog.

Burn out is easy in this business. Try to carve out time for yourself even if it is a few hours. I learned after 4 years to set the expectations of your clients and let them know of your availability. Most clients will understand.

I work until my work is done.... if I'm done early, I shut it down....it's a rare happening!!! if I need a day or two off, I will take it... I usually don't need it.... as long as I get my workouts in everyday, I'm good...

As a non real estate agent, I take 1-2 days off a week even though I may do some very light work on my days off. Must have that work/life balance.

I try not to do so, but there are times when you are negotiating and have to pick up the phone or deliver contract, etc...those weeks I make sure I take an extra day or 2 off the following week. Otherwise, you don't know what day it is!

This career offers many opportunities to take off time if you want or need to do so, I often find myself taking off parts of days instead of full days in a "typical" week.

What is a day off? Most weeks i am working 7 days. I do try to take Sat afternoon and night off. But it depends on the season. In winter when it slows, i can take a long weekend and head to FLA. In spring and fall, it is 12 plus hour days every day. In the heat of summer when it slows, i can get some beach days in.

Karen - I find myself working 7 days a week, because there always seems to be something to do. However, I do take time out for other things throughout the week.
1,076,551
Depends on my workload and marketing plans I have --- sometimes I'll take a couple days off, usually just one "mostly" off. I always answer my phone if it's convenient, but I like to slip away to places with no cell service at least for a few hours each week. I take lots of random days off throughout the year though. I work to live, not the other way around.
5,868,554
in our crazy frenzied Seller's market, it is hard NOT to work 7 days a week.
1,502,998
I do a little something every day, I do consider AR to be "work related" even though it's mostly fun versus true work. I take part of every day off. I will work evenings and weekends when needed (afterall, thats when most clients are available and when open houses happen), but usually only a couple hours max. My weekends are mostly mine.

We do our best to take Sundays off. Otherwise we take time out during the week as needed and we take a couple of good vacations (though we still work on those a bit too). -Kasey

I only take full days off when I go on vacation - the most I take off otherwise is half days - I always have leads to work, calls to make etc.

The perfect plan is to take off on Thursday and Sundays. The real plan works out to most Sundays!
