I may have just given "the look" and walked away. Some questions do not deserve an answer or reason why, especially with a short sale. The co broke fee is posted in MLS for all to see before they show the home, the time to negotiate it is before they show it, not when they are about to close.

I'm with Kathleen Daniels - it must be a new coaching thing of "if you don't ask you don't get." Hope you have a Buyers Representation Agreement which states you can get commission from the buyer if....etc.

If an MLS listing, refer to the MLS listing for co-operating brokerage commission and, if applicable, any buyer representation agreement or buyer customer service agreement.  If an exclusive listing, refer to the buyer representation agreement or buyer customer service agreement and, if applicable, to any agreement between the listing brokerage and selling brokerage.

The answer is NO. The commission is stated in the MLS and there is no more for the buyer agent. 

The buyer's agent can have a contract with his/her buyer for that added money. To ask you to give it to him is truly amazing! Is this for real?

    We agreed in advance on what the Brokers would get paid.  Too late to change it now.

Oh for pete's sake - give it up already I'd be telling them. I not too long ago had an agent call me 6 months after a transaction closed. She says - oh I was the one who referred those folks to you. Huh your name never came up or even the mention of a referral came up once with those folks?  If you really wanted to refer the clients you should have sent me a referral or at the very least called me! Ridiculous.

Don't know where agents get the idea that they can even ask that question. The % was posted in MLS. If they want more, they can ask their buyer.
