First you have to really understand what it means to represent someone...that is lacking in 90% of realtors.
Bringing value means you put the clients best interest about your own.
- You don't worry about the seller or listing agent "liking you".
- You don't worry about the commission.
- Your only focus is what is best for the buyer.
If you can master that, you will be able to tell the buyer many instances where your value will shine.
Buyers don't want to hear the same empty promises that every agent makes.

Track record of getting offers accepted in multiple offer situations. By being professional and an agent other agents want to work with. I echo what Mike & Eve Alexander commented.

I have a unique trifecta of experiences that help my buyers very well. I started in real estate as an investor for a dozen years, but I'm also a contractor. Using my contracting skills to find flaws or pluses in homes and then using my investor skills to negotiate a better deal helps my clients get the best deal possible.

Getting them as a "client" (vs prospect) is the first step. When I was an active agent, I did that by blogging and sharing my knowledge and experience. Referrals will tell prospects about your value. Networking is another opportunity to show your expertise. Once they become clients, it should be obvious what value you bring to the table. Being THE local expert is your path to success.

"Buyer PROSPECT"
You ask to prove you can dance before the dance begins.
Such misguided efforts lead agents down the pathway called resentment as they resort to Success Theater, Vanity Metrics and Surrogate Endpoints.
Value, in regards to a PROSPECT, exists in the relationship and/or solution. Such value requires an understanding of the goal, fear, anxiety, hope, vulnerability, values and/or expected outcome.
Believing such information is not knowable, takes the agent down the path that does not place agents in spotlight of acclaim. Instead it is more ST, VM, and SE.
Then you need a loyalty program to keep them on the farm.

It is hard at the beginning, since we all use the same resources.... I just talked to a new client who already receives listing updates from several agents and websites.

When I work with my buyers, my focus is to find them the right home. I demonstrate this with my actions. I let them know I care. I take their calls. I address their concerns. I consult with their lender. I talk and talk a lot with my buyers. I also listen to their needs.

Honesty. I do not make a habit of only telling them what they want to hear.

Showing the value of working with a local professional that knows the community, fellow Realtors needed to work with and my ability to reach buyers or find listings. I tell horror stories about those that tried doing it with an unqualified Realtor. I also stress that serving their best interest and finding a great future investment is our top priority.

Make eye contact while listening to them. Show (and have) a sincere interest in them, and in what they are trying to achieve.
You must also know your market inside and out, and know the local players in your business (lenders, title attorneys, surveyors, etc.). When they ask a question about neighborhoods, interest rates, whatever, you need to be able to answer (or be able to find the answer on your laptop or tablet) right then and there.

One cannot really demonstrate one's value before the fact, but what I can do is let them know how I work, tell them about my many years in the business, show them my testimonials, and let them know I will listen to their needs, and always put their best interests in the forefront.. If needed, I will provide them with the contact information of my past clients (with their permission of course).
