I get 5-10 of these a day.  I usually just hang up ... on my cell I block the calls into spam -- where they belong.

these have been driving me crazy.  I feel like I should just stop answering the phone unless I recognize the person.

The do not call list only harms and effects honest businesses, the scammers, politicians and fake non profits are all immune.

YEA, "Julie" calls me every day several times, always from a different number i have not blocked yet and always a new state.

Completely and totally ignored would be my take.  I keep adding "Autoreject" numbers to my phone from all the student loan/credit card/energy savings companies that do whatever they want.  Amazing how "Sarah" can work in Ohio, Louisiana, Nevada, Michigan, etc., all at the same time.

I get those calls also - mostly at home but also on my cell. Yes, there is a do no call list but lots of people call anyway. They sometimes start with, "I'm not selling anything" as a way to get around the DNC issue. 

i got at least 6 calls from the same company in one day and I tild them twice to put me on their do not call list.  So evidently not working.

I get them daily, too, usually 3 - 5. I don't think the DNC list means anything these days. I am blocking numbers all the time

The problem is the messages are automated and they switch phone numbers.

Those calls can only get through one time to me...I label the caller SPAM never to answer again. I will not jeopardize legitimate callers because of the robo callers.

I just block all unwanted calls on my cell & home #'s.

Apparantly not! I get them as well in English and Spanish all day. The robos drive me nuts!

Nothing stops them.

Who enforces the do not call list?

It is still there.  I don't know anyone who was ever fined for violation.

Yes if you can believe it. I checked to be sure that my cell #'s were DNC & it still keeps happening. Press 1 if you wish to be taken off the list .....

My VM just made it easier to block this bozos with a quick swipe. Blocks texts too in case they go that route next.

There is but not followed. They manipulate the caller ID so you can block that number and the next day they call under a different number and even different state. I get them every day. I have tried playing along an dhave fond most calls ae from Pakistan and you can get them angry when you play along and turn the tide on them

I think there is, but somehow no one cares. I just immediately block thos calls right after both for calling and leaving messages.

There just is not a good reporting system or follow through

I use to not get any calls...I still get very few. I was on a list. It must still have some power, because I don't get that many sales calls.

There is but it is not enforced on small timers.  I recently went through a very long (15-20 minute) process to report ADT.  After all that, I got brushed off by the FCC.  If you look at their site, they show you who they prosecute.  Because litigation is costly and they have limited resources, they only go after 20 or so "big fish" each year who are committing sales fraud (such as pharmacutical and stock fraud).  The liklihood of them going after "Bob's Promotional Products, Inc." for spam calling you or the local solar company for using a robo dialer is well... lets just say a snowball has a better chance in Hades.

No on cares or respects the list.  I get on average 5 robo and spam calls per day. I just got one.  I pick up the phone ... mute my phone ... and let the person keep talking to their self - because I do not speak. When they finally hang up ... I hang up.

There is but it is not working - what I have started to do and works really, really well - is wait for the caller to say something then I respond....

"Hi, what was your name again?... Well [name] are you aware that I am on the DNC? If you call me one more time I will be reporting your business to the FCC in violation to the DNC laws - do you understand?"

Constantly.  After they call once, I can block them.  Does that ever work?  I guess it must or they wouldn't do it???

DNC still applies to landlines. However, there are many ways to legally make the call. Do you still have a landline that you answer?

Cells on DNC must be renewed every few years.

I have found, if I listen to the end of the message an option is presented to 'remove me from call list' that has proven to be effective. Haven't received a 'collage loan payoff' call in months.

Along with turn the clock back, replace smoke detector battiereis one can add, update DNC registry as a stay in touch service.
