Biggest Challenge: Working with people. We all have a freak flag and we all fly it differently.
Keep a positive attitude and choose to not work with some people.

I work 16 hrs a day and I find it still a challenge to get everything done that I require myself to get done, as a business owner the challenges are little bit different for me than for most, and carry many responsibilities.

Second answer first:
Drink. Kidding. Not that much.
The biggest challenge is dealing with people who take themselves wayyyyy too seriously. This business is generally a hoot.

Like Kathleen Daniels said, dealing with people is the biggest challenge. Not usually clients, but other agents. I have an ever growing list of agents I would not accept offers from.
When it comes to transaction coordinators, I'm about ready to start saying "hell no" to them as well.

Jennifer,
Get know for some aspect in your marketplace and stay visible there. My feeling is that agents are afraid to specialize for fear of losing business that they have. When you have a specialty it is much easier to market that instead of 52 communities scattered over a large urban area. A

Honestly, I love FORD'ing my sphere/clients but, I HATE asking for business!
I made my 30 calls today and had one former buyer (who I speak with quarterly) ask, "So, are you still peddling real estate?!"
WHAT?! I completely failed at asking in the past but, he and his wife receive cards, newsletters, etc. from me...etc. He asked that question and I almost fell out of my chair! When I said, "I hope you're kidding but, OF COURSE I am!" He said, "Well, I'm going to text you one of my co-workers contact info - he needs your help selling his house." It totally made me realize that I have GOT to step out of my comfort zone and ASK for business!

Sometimes the days are too short, and I run out of time to get things done. I've gotten pretty good at being more efficient and delegating some work to our newest office assistant.

Biggest challenge? Ignoring all the noise. There are so many potential distractions to our time and money. How to overcome it? Keep the "big why" top of mind, keep my nose down, consistently apply what works and move forward one day at a time.

There is no bigger challenge than surviving the horrendous recession we went through for about 5 years. Survival was by the Grace of God, family, reserves, faith, trust, living on minimal. Reward for surviving is priceless. We learned about who was in our life for love and who would abandon ship when the waters got rough.
