There are some that specialize in relocations, because professional athletes move often.  We have spoken to several of these, and for the most part the majority of athletes chose to lease rather than buy because of that.  Those who buy are not necesarily clients of these firms.  Some of the wives of the players have real estate licenses, and they chose them to represent them.  Or, they have friends in the biz.

I've never heard of a specific group of Realtors who work with athletes but my son John Dunham is an athlete and tends to work with other athletes and their friends and family because he is one.

I worked on leases and a couple of purchases with the minor league baseball and hockey teams. Then the AHL moved out and brought in a lower seed team, where they dont make the money to purchase. 

The pro teams in teh Nashville market tend to use the same realty companies and agents. Their relationships are established with the team management and I expect they paid advertising dollars of some sort to be the company of choice.

I don't have anything like that in my area.

In our market there are some brokerages that have a sports and entertainment division to handle these typically high profile clients.

I don't personally know, but I'm guessing there are a few. 

We have professional athletes here who have retired and, typically their wives own the brokerages that represent the players coming in and leaving the city.  There is one brokerage here who pays for advertising to be 'the partner' (to the team) but, I don't seen that brokerage selling to the players.

The homes in Denver sold or purchased in Denver is usually done by a high-end real estate company.

Out here when the rams moved here last year agents were flocking to press conferences offering themselves.  From the photos I saw, it looked more like what I imagine a trip to the "Red light district" looks like, than anything else.

I'm not familiar with a pro-athletes niche group. Could be an interesting specialty.  

Usually the agent has an inside contact and expands their representation from there. In my experience most athletes have advisors who handle the referral of business!
