In my opinion most of these commercial are idiotic and dreamed up by those who have no idea what real estate is about, or how to appeal to the right folks...Perhaps they have something with the ostrich, as they do put their head in the sand

She's someone who's very funny except in those commercials.

I feel they waste money on them myself. 

I have never cared for NAR commercials on our behalf and these days Realtor.com isn't doing any better. Ron and Alexandra Seigel have summed up my opinion on this beautifully. The one I hated most was the one that said "We are Realtors, Real Estate Is Our Life." Oh my goodness, no, no, no. Real Estate is what I do professionally. It's only one part of my life.

I totally agree with Ron and Alexandra Seigel . And going Hollywood is not necessarily going to be effective for Realtor.com. Someone in themarketing department thinks it's clever and eye-catching I suppose!

NAR wastes the moneys we give them to support their closed shop.

I have a remote and use it whenver I see a stupid commercial - which is pretty much any commercial these days - I think they have 12 year olds writing and producing them if I'm not mistaken

Every time I see one of those dumb NAR commercials I want to shoot my TV. They are all hideous!! Insulting to our profession.

NAR commercials leave me wondering what they are thinking!

And I wonder why, when the public wants to know anything about real estate, they go to the Darkside.

Our own people make the mountain we must climb higher every year. Maybe that is the 'effective' they want to create. Make certain the agents they control have fewer choices.

First you need to know the marketing title for this group of Realtor.com commercials which star Elizabeth Banks. They're called "Dream Home Tips" and are anything but traditional in content. NAR lost their direction years are ago and can't make up any ground no matter what they try. The commercials are somewhat entertaining though and NO the writer does not sell real property in my opinion.

I'm in your camp. They are funny but I'm not sure that we are making the headway that we want. I think hers are better than the guy that's confused sitting in a chair.

RM's got that corny one where the guy takes the couple up in a balloon because it's rush hour. There goes more of my $$ up in smoke. 

The sad part Bill is they don't give a damn about your opinion do they? The letter that you received says as much. Full steam ahead lighting our dues on fire!

NAR and its move to relinquish control of realtor.com happened before I became a Realtor. Doesn't News Corp. own realtor.com? Some entity that does not represent us directly is directly affecting our image with their ridiculous commercials. How did this ever happen?

I haven't seen that ad, but I can certainly say I've never sat on an ostrich but I have sold real estate!

Oh goodness, I haven't seen that one yet!  I always tell myself that if John Q is developing advertisements, it must be how the public views us!  

Never saw it find it hard to believe but then its good as an attention grabber  ;-)

We need to get better commercials. Perhaps they should have a suggestion box on ActiveRain for our commnets

I don't respond well to the structure of the NAR commercials either. To me they are easily forgetable.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... NAR is out of touch with reality and the needs of the people they serve.  They should be disbanded.

I would suggest you do so,e reading on neuro-science marketing and it will help up you understand the commerical and a deeper drive into what motivates people.

Must be the same person that keeps calling us Real-TORS.

I did not see it, but by your descriptions those commercials sound quite shallow.
