We have a 1960s retro metal tree we put up every year.

I was using real until about 3 years ago - I found a good sized artificial tree and it does the trick!  Now I can sleep at night and not worry about the house burning down!

D. I cut a real one from the forest.

We normally support our local high school who provide the fresh cut trees. 

We buy a small tree at our local hardware store. 

I do a big wreath that I hang on my gate in Northern California for the neighbors to enjoy. We use lower branches off live trees to make it, so nothing is cut down. Because I go to Hawaii for Christmas, I don't do any interior decorating.

Over my lifetime have done all three. For past 20+ years, it's all been artificial.

I've been known to do all three at various times.  My preference is to cut down a fresh tree at a rural tree farm.  

  We used to cut down a Florida cedar tree, or even a sand pine.  

Growing up we trekked out to woods to cut our tree. So much fun.  As adult we have always had artificial tree, not retro

When the kids were little we used to make an adventue out of going to cut our own tree. Now we just buy one at a favorite nursery. Also have a fake one for the foyer window.

A lot of people cut their own in the National Forest that surrounds us, or they cut their own at a tree farm. I haven't put up a tree in two years. My daughter is almost 20 and doesn't live at home, otherwise I would put one up. My cats really like having one up, but they make a mess out of it and the ornaments...so that's a really good reason NOT to put one up.

We go artificial, do to our travels to family far and wide... a lot less risk

I use an artificial one.... I have a pellet stove and a fresh tree would dry out quickly..... I put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving.... I love Christmas....

After we had cats who have circus genes, we stopped doing trees.  Just a bit of decoration on the mantel or on the dining table.  A wreath on the door.  A

If we put one up we would probably buy it at Home Depot.

C for me ... Lights are up but no ornaments yet ...

Have done all, and including going up to the mountains and cutting one down.   Lately, it is too busy in December (&January to take it down).

Sadly the answer is C. We have an artificial tree with the lights already on it. Makes life easier. We don't always put up a tree either, just if we are having company.

C, use artificial.  I'm alergic to the natural ones.  Took many years to figure out why I got sick every Christmas.

I use artificial but am getting frustrated with the "prelit" lights not working.

Usually it's #2, buy one that is already cut.

My husband and I are the fastest tree shoppers around. We are usually in and out, with the tree in the truck, in 5-10 minutes.

"nah"

We don't put up a xmas tree, if we did I would buy a fake one anyway

Since Sandy and me will be apart from each other's company this year; no tree. Normally, she likes natural tree.

My wife has opted for "b" since option "a" would require a truck for transport!

The tree that Santa delivers to was freshly cut by my hubby.  We have two other artificial to help the WHOLE house enjoy the spirit.  ;)

Takes too much room and room land fill. Have not bought or cut a Xmas tree for years. Across was a Xmas tree farm now serving as residential homes...

What can I say?

We have a nice artifical one. But it hasn't been up in the last 2 years and it won't be going up again this year, as we have been/are going away .

We have used artificial for years. I do like the smell of a fresh tree.

Varies but so far have never had a tree farm close enough to cut down our own.
