Reciprocity is silly.
What if a AR member has 899 followers?
Should not FOLLOWS be related to the fabric of one blog content instead of a social approval mechanism. Those who pander reciprocal follows are the one I also observe to invest the least amount of effort into their responses to questions and lack depth and originality of the blogs.
Create your own voice and those of kindred spirit will be NATURALLY attracted to those of vision.
Translated that means don't fret of the three that you think got away and cast the fabric of your net over those who posses the curiosity you can appreciate.
DO NOT PANDER FOR RECIPROCAL FOLLOWS.

Hi JM... I think you have a great answer from Ronald Gombach . Also, lots of people will follow, but then not post anything to their own blogs.

I think Ronald Gombach summed up pretty much what I had to say. Many people follow because they are going to truly read and follow. Too many bloggers followed equals a long list that is not practical in any way. There are bloggers I follow because I like reading their posts regularly. If I follow too many, I would inevitably miss many of them. It is all in their "blog post management" style

Many members do not practice reciprocation.
Do not fret. Following members is simply an easy way to pay it forward. I follow over 10,000 members but have less than 1,600 followers.
You will receive points for following five additional members each day.

While I agree with some of Ronald Gombach statements, I also believe there are many who do not know how/why to reciprocate or are more focused on themselves
I always return the follow, even if I do not know or have read nothing from the person - I can always remove the follow later if I find them to be less than what I had expected - but that is rare in itself.
I've followed many, many people who have never returned the follow or recprocated - I just move and on and don't worry about them but instead focus on moving forward with my business
Time is short - my husband has a saying "Don't sweat the small stuff. It's all small stuff in the end!"

I think Ronald Gombach has a good answer. I follow people becuase I like what they have to say. It's nice for them to reciprocate but I have no issue if they don't. I try to send a thank you email to everyone who follows me, and I reciprocate much of the time with a follow if they are writing posts, otherwise not.

Jim,
They probably are not aware that you are following them or they are not interested in following you back. I check my home page for "new" followers, and then I go to their profile and read it. I usually send a thank you note. If I am interested in what they have to say, I follow them back, otherwise I do not. A

Boy, that's a touchy feely question. I am going to assume that it's what written? I can't always read everyone that I am following so I don't expect the same in kind.
Life gets busy.
Besides, if you post in spanish you are limiting your readership. There are 2 agents that I know that mix it up - contact them to see if it is working.
Fernando Herboso is one.

Ronald Gombach offers an excellent explanation as to a possible reason.
Have you tried reaching out to them via email or a phone call? You could find out for sure.

JM Padron, CCIM - it is not necessary - and at times they may not even notice it. You should still do what you think is right.

Many hold off until they know you will be writing the kind of blog posts they want to read each day. You may try asking them to follow your blog and provide good reading.

JM, not everyone has the "if they follow me, I'll follow them back" mentality. I did not for the first six months or so. Now I do the follow-back, but may re-evaluate at some point in the future.

JM Padron, CCIM - I don't know the answer to that but, I have been re-following members the past few months that I was previously following. Suddenly, I was no longer following them- many of them have sent me referrals too!
It could be that they are in the same boat I'm in - trying to catch back up on those that I used to follow.

The idea of following bloggers is to make it easier to find the people whose posts you regularly read. Since many of the people here are monolingual, they might not be inclined to subscribe to a blogger with Spanish language posts, although I'm certainly not saying you shouldn't post them!
And I follow you!

I cannot answer for them, though know that I always try to 'like' people that 'like' me back, and that comment, and I enjoy replying back. It only seems polite JM Padron, CCIM. I do know that some days are crazy, and if we are not on AR daily, we may miss someone. I'm thinking if you left a comment, that they would reply back, though I know that is not always the case!

All Rainers are not as active as some, others may not know what following means and some may not have the time to. Most often i follow those who regularly leave comments
