I generally go to my following list or new blogger list. I do think it makes the network look monopolized by one individual during a few hours on Saturday morning. Looking at it from the public perspective during that time, it would appear that the site is some type of MLS and not an interactive discussion and idea community. I don't think that was the intention of the creators.

I agree - it took 10+ pages to get through yesterday's massive postings!  I have started only using my favorites list on Saturdays - they're not the robo-posting-types!  ;-)

Better yet, just enforce the policy that other agents listings may not be posted without approval of the listing agent. Virtually none of the gaggle (in competition with plethora) of postings belong to this agent.

I just select FOLLOWING to see the posts I want and don't go through the blog roll for this very reason. I don't have strong feelings about it but Bob might!

I typically only see the posts that are from people I follow or are in the groups in which I participate.  One of the reasons I don't usually even look at the blog roll any longer is because of what you state.....  I don't want to spend my time slogging through pages and pages of listings and market reports.

The proliferation of posts on a particular day does not pose a problem for me since I don't tend to look at the blog roll.  As far as the programming procedural should such a change take place, that's above my pay grade.  

And yes, I like the word plethora too.  Plenty.  

I leave it to the shareholders, directors and management team of this website to decide what is best for their objectives.

That would be a start. There should also be a criteria because if I have 20 listings on the average I could just dump one day a week. Put a limit on listings

Since there are only one or two people who do this, I'd rather see the approach taken of AR contacting them and asking them to limit themselves.

There are other issues that may take priority positions.

I would tend to support a limit on the number of daily posts.

I don't think so. What I do think is that the default view on the blog home page should not just be chronologically the most recent posted no matter the category.

In reality, it should probably be filtered already to only show content for Professionals. That way, consumer based content wouldn't muck up that area. Seems like a pretty simple fix, but our developers that have been on the project since Ben took over owning AR have learned that there are zero simple fixes on a site that has been around for ten years and has had 6 or 7 development teams work on it.

But that would be my solution. Post as much as you want on your own blog, but we shouldn't have the default blog home area showing consumer focused posts, given that the blog home area is mostly accessed by members and consumers are finding content directly from search, rarely coming direcy to AR and then searching the site through the blog home area. 

Tony and Suzanne Marriott, Associate Brokers - I personally do not like a limit on the number of posts per day. There are members with many more listings and change of status every day!

However, if the system finds someone writing a post like what happened, an alarm should go off and this site should be blocked reversing posts of last hour or so.

I'm kind of neutral on all of this. Mainly because I don't use the blog roll. I usually return the comments that are left on my last post and then check with the people I follow and read on a regular basis. 

I actually thought it was that way for points but obviously not for volume. I think that either they have to post in the middle of the night or have a maximum number.

It is likely a very simple programming change to code.  I agree that it is one of those elusive goals:  they are likely to find a way around our rules.

I don't understand what they get out of dumping out a lot of listing blogs, though. Is the idea to get to 500,000 so they can have free advertising to the www?

Something definitely needs to be done. I went back and forth for over 2 hours on Saturday morning to find some interesting to read from members...Now, I won't bother to even go on the site on that morning.

Should the number of posts be limited to ten a day.

Of course not. There COULD be a legitimate reason for 3,000 blogs in one day perhaps inspired by some AR contest.

The only thing AR should do is allow readers to block blogs with comments disable. For the rest AR members have within their ability the means to make such actions detrimental.

More rules. More tattling to momma. More real estate agent non-sense. I say no.

Now, when it comes to banning premature hammering, for that I would vote YES.

They could probably cut it down by area instead of every minute area!

Supposedly you get points for 10 posts a week, whether you spread them out or do them all at once.  Clearly the guy doesn't do it for points.

I never noticed until I started reading about this yesterday (Saturday). I believe it should be limited to 3 blogs in one 24 hour period. Any more than that borders on spam.

BTW, the person who does this every Saturday, do you think it is him or a hired hand?

Sounds like a good compromise Tony. 

I am not one to stifle someone who is working hard on their business, as this person is attempting to do, but to keep the peace it may be a solution.

  If not a daily limit, then how about a "break" of say, 15 or 30 minutes between posts?
