Both - we LOVE training new agents!  I think it's because I flew by the seat of my pants when I first started and now have a system that I enjoy sharing with other motivated agents - including newbies - and watching them bloom!

My brokerage virtually never takes on new agents. If we have newer agents it's because they are part of a team that is associated with our office.

My broker will hire anyone he thinks might be good in real estate. Some make it and some don't.

The team hires new and trains them properly.... moulded to fit it...

Yes we want to teach new agents and are offering licensing classes as well as helping established Realtors find a place where they will get support and the advertising they need.

The brokerage is not recruiting or signing up newbies.

However newbies are encouraged to join an in-house team.

Many brokerages use the team structure to  systemically dodge any responsibility to prepare new agents. Nothing new there.

Yep, they are always looking for experienced people. We just did a change up in management in one of our offices just Saturday.

All of our very experienced staff started with us when they were nearly just out of college.

Most of the agents come to our company with experience, but some newbies do come in and the energy level rises in the whole office.  Some of these kids give Millenials a good name.

Our company has traditionally hire experience Realtors but occasionally will hire a new licensee.  Those newbies seem to be the cream of the crop and quite successful.

All brokerages take whoever wants to come in.  One office I know have year end clearance. Fire agents they do not like replace them with newer agents....

No. I have been independent since January 2012.  I am torn with the notion of adding an agent.  I so enjoying flying solo.

Both with the goal to get more experienced agents vs. newbies.

Experienced.  We are a highly productive office and not into the number of bodies.

Always, but based on our model, experienced agents survive easier than newbies!

The brokerage tends to salivate when it thinks it has a chance to get an experienced agent. Those numbers are small compared to the number of new agents that are brought on.

More new than experienced.   In my market people don't switch companies much unless there is a new broker/ new manager at an office or a start up.  The last big shake up was 2008-2010.
