It is important because there are a ton of really smart people in the Rain. There are a few smart-asses too (me being one of them) and we like to have fun too. AR is a very helpful community.  I see it as a home for top professionals in their respective field ... (agents, lenders, staggers, etc.).

This site will not substitute for real personal experiences that you alone can only weather.

because there is so much knowledge here and the people are so willing to share. Having said that - we do wish that he would assign questions that are not found in your book or those that do not involve Utah State law - we are generally speaking not licensed in UTAH here

I think the Activerain membership has grown very weary of the same questions being asked over and over again and the real estate school is doing you a disservice by suggesting you get your prelicensing education this way. If they are collecting the fee to teach the material, then they should be teaching you.

I guess they're smart enough to know that not all learning comes from textbooks. The people on Active Rain are out there doing it everyday. That's the best learning experience you can get.

If you love learn then you will love the site. You get to learn what other areas are doing and how others handle things. Plus you get some great ideas!

Wealth of knowledge, information and free advice you can't get anywhere.

ActiveRain is the largest platform of real estate professionals on Earth.  It is an amazing brain trust.  We share our knowledge with the public and each other... and learn from each other.

After you get your license you will be able to network on this site.

It's important for a lot of reasons. Start reading posts here, and you will learn so much about the real estate business. We have answered a lot of questions from students. I don't mind doing it, but some members get a bit snippy. Just ignore them. Others will answer them for you. Welcome. 

Deni Abplanalp I've taught the real estate principles course for several years. It's the instructor's job to answer your questions and to thoroughly explain so you understand in order to pass the test.

Posting questions here will give you a real-world answer from experienced agents.

  The people on AR are real-world practitioners.  They are not trying to sell you leads, or sell you a system.

Are they based in Utah?

I don't know why they recommend AR other than it's a great real estate site.

I think you should be doing research anywhere you can find where good information is spread around.

To understand social media, and does help bring you business once you get your license.

You can learn a lot through your interaction with other professionals.

You will get some great imput in the rain.

I think that is a great idea, but you guys and girls use the same Qs and posts and that is simply junking a good place. Try to come up with questions that you really want to learn about. Do not copy/paste.

Welcome.  The Rain is a great wealth of knowledge and has a great ability to help you in your career and with your marketing.

We get a lot of generic questions from students about water rights, why we got involved, red flags and stuff that really should be in the books.  Please break that mold.  :-)

Why do you think this is important?

Those who make a living in real estate sales are predominately those who are not inclined to work and play well with others. So they go the independent route, they want to be the masters of their destiny, to create their financial Independence and perhaps create a legacy.

The nature of this business surrounds agents with people but few friends. Isolation and loneliness, while swimming in a sea of smiley faces, is a chronic reality.

Engaging with others who share a common experience confirms you are not going crazy, but that what you are going through is not God's punishment but that which is common to those who walk in this way of life.

Active Rain is a much therapeutic as it is informational.

The advise you have been provided is worthy of your pursuit. But, just like this response to your question, it is up to you to sort the gold from the 'what you want to hear' comments.

At the end of the race you will realize you are the only one accountable for the choices you make. Every question will receive both a YES and NO. Sometimes it is the quite voice that contains the hope.

And like others have said, some of us want to have fun. Before reacting, understand those who are here are elements of a vast mosaic that represents lives that endured life's greatest challenges and lives just beginning it's journey. Each voice has equal representation in this two dimensional space, and it is up to the reader to exercise their wisdom.

It i important for a couple of reasons, one by starting to build relationships in real estate and second to learn from those already in the business. You will find agents here happy to help with anything you ask.

Many of the questions were formulated around 30 or 40 years ago and are not applicable anymore.  I suspect your schools bought the study guide from retired brokers. I doubt they will ask some of them..... Only a few who started these schools actually came back told us they passed the test.... Nothing beats in person classroom teaching.....

Blogging can be a great marketing tool.  You also pick up writing skills that most Realtors lack and that will come in handy in your new line of work.

Active Rain is a great site and you may learn many valuable things here, not so sure about what you will learn with agent professor though.
