Lise Howe it's up to the homeowner/buyer to conduct radon testing, not mandatory in GA.

It isn't something that is done up here. I've heard of only 1 inspector who can test if asked and he's like the Maytag Repair Man!

No, but then again, nothing surprises me when it comes to burdensome regulation in Moco.

It's a first if you ask me & really press the issue of where a village has a right or should butt out of private ownership.

Nope, in the counties I worked in ( los angeles basin) , no one ever mentioned about radon testing. Definitely it is not mandatory and very rare.

Not mandatory but I always recommend that my clients test. We do have radon in this area.

It use to be but there was a positive for every 1000 tests and some of those were false positives. In eastern Washington it is a different story however.

Hi Lise - We've had mandatory radon information disclosure for many years and testing is very common. It's not mandatory yet, but it's certainly coming - so we always recommend that our buyers pay for the test - since the sellers will generally remediate if necessary since it's a health hazard, it's something our buyers won't have to face down the road when it does become required.

I will jump into that profession to list a home with radon data tested at my lab.

It is strongly encouraged and most buyers do it. We have ledge, which is known to harbor radon, so it's a good idea.

It's not mandatory in NC or SC... totally buyer's choice and I don't know that I see even 50% of buyers choosing radon inspections.

Not mandatory and never had anyone question it, let alone do it. It is in a list of disclosures here though, our SBSA form that all must sign.

Nah, we need the disclosure though - I was under the impression Radon was everywhere so testing for it would always be positive?

So far it is not mandatory but most inspector's have the client sign off if not being done.
