I like practical gifts. One agent had bird houses built for her clients and the house favored their house.

I customize gifts for each client. I just find out what they like or need and surprise them few days after closing ( can be an address stamp with their new address, a key chains, some moving help, housewarming party supplies or food/catering, etc.). Also the first thing I do, I send them a card to their new address congratulating them with their new home.

Pearls for the Soul book is the coolest gift on earth. Why? It has over 800 positive & uplifting sayings that will emphasize or compliment any occasion. The afterglow for giver & receiver goes on & on...All this for $10.00?

David Lobel - if you know your clients, give them something personal - what they'll appreciate/love.
I give a gift of subscription to 'Highlight's kids magazine to those who have young kids - and for those who are 'driven' gets subscription to 'Success' magazine.

A phone call to the buyer or seller advising that we are on record. You are no longer the owner of .... or you are now the owner of ..... here are the keys to your new home! Thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you!

David,
The coolest gifts are when a seller gives his agent a gift. We know a lot of agents who get wonderful gifts! A

There is nothing to add here unfortunately. I like taking a pic of the buyers & the front of the house for advertising but no gifts really.

Not very unusual or particularly cool but that moment when I can say "we're confirmed" followed by delivering keys to the buyer or a check(or confirmation of the wire) to the seller.

Dinner their first night after moving in, delivered to the door with all the supplies for an elegant breakfast the next morning.

You have to be careful. I saw another agent give a beautiful bottle of wine and 30 year old bottle of scotch to her clients. They were offended because of their religion.

Outside of a thank-you note, it has depended on the client David Lobel. Some of gotten an arrangement from 'Edible Arrangements' (usually people that have moved out of state), some have gotten local restaurant Gift Cards (older folks that don't cook), some have gotten Gift Cards to 'Home Depot' (people that had home repairs and painting coming up), and some have gotten a Gift Card to 'Bed Bath & Beyond' (new first-time home buyers who needed everything). I think of these as all practical gifts though, nothing spectacular or unusual.

I don't have any really cool ideas. I personally like to give gifts with shelf life. A bottle wine gets used up. One thing I give is the atomic clocks that tell the indoor/outdoor temperature. People love these, although a lot of people seem to have them now.
