I stopped checking decades ago not caring about the ink. I also never likde it when they also said only #2 pencils are only allowed either.

I have always preferred black for business and blue for personal. That being said, I like the idea of using blue for contrast.

I always used to hear that blue was preferable so that people would know the contract is original, but have not really thought about it for a long long time.

I usaually reach for a blue pen so I can tell the origianlly from copies. Bottom line it doesn't really matter, either works.

I prefer blue, always have. Years ago, blue would not copy on copy machines and black was required!

BLUE! The reason is that until the advent of color copiers, a blue ink signature was further proof as to the authenticity of the original document. Old habits are hard to break!

Blue - we used to be required to use only blue so, I've kept that 'tradition' going!

Whichever one is currently on my desk or in my hand.  One bank always wanted signatures in blue ink not black.  Guess blue ink looked more original and not photo copied.

Before I switched to electronic signatures, I had a client ask if he could sign using a glitter pen.  It made me laugh, but I had him sign using blue or black.  I don't recall which one, but I figured the broker would prefer blue or black over glitter.

Working hard to keep all the signatures in a digital ink, which is black by default, not sure if it is changable.

I used all electronic signatures, but if wet signatures are needed, blue is best for me.

Away from new home sales, if I do not use docusign or a similar program, I prefer my clients sign with blue so there is absolutely no question which is the original.  Happy selling.

I heard that back in the day, lawyers wanted contracts signed in blue after the invention of the copy machine.  Blue didn't copy well so you knew it was an original signature.  Contract law moves slow, so to this day I still see title agents demanding blue ink at closing.  I think HUD also still requries blue ink on all of it's contracts.  I like the look of the blue ink too so I always carry a blue pen with me and use it whenever I have paper contracts signed.  If all I had was black, then we just sign with what we've got.  I never had glitter like Jill Murty, but I did have a contract come back with bright pink ink once:)

Either one is acceptable in our state.  I think I have mostly black ones.  I do have a nice bright orange one I use for search and rescue though.  That's fun.

Blue is my preference.  In the end ... it does not matter.

I don't think it matters much anymore, though in the old days they would insist on blue so that one could tell which one was the original.

Blue is the standard but online contracts makes this a moot point.

I use black ink pens 99.9% of the time.  I hate using blue ink.

I personally don't like black ink so I usually use blue ink for signatures ... but it also depends on if I'm doing digital signatures ... then it's black ink because the printer prints them out.

Lenders used to require blue ink for signatures. Digital signing brought us out of the dark ages.

Can't remember the last time I signed with a pen. It's all esigned these days. But if I had to sign it would be with a black pen, as that's all I use in general.
