Hello Fred and I did not see this video because I don't watch the news so thanks for the view ;o)

Las Vegas has been emploding Hotel Casinos along The Strip (Las Vegas Blvd) for many years now. The one before this was the Stardust Hotel which was across the street from the Riviera Hotel.

These buildings look like there OK, etc but really they are so outdated that they become an eye sore and or money pit to run.

The city of Las Vegas has HUGE projections for future construction and this area where the Riv was is but one of the many very popular areas for future construction projects.

The major problem for the hold on booming construction in Las Vegas is because Corporate America really doesn't like Obama as a President, he has quoted in 5 different speeches to Americans to (Not Go) to Las Vegas.

The city of Las Vegas has been pulling many permits for construction in 2017 when Obama will hopefully be out of the White House ... Unless he declares Martial Law ;o/

And if this happens the the United States will really be in for trouble ...

This type of tear down seems to be popular in Vegas, a dramatic end in a dramatic city.

I prefer a less wasteful teardown when I am recycling a building, but then I am a rather odd duck.

I'm always impressed at how accurately they engineer these demolitions.

I've watched a few of these when we used to go to vegas (which was once a month LOL)

It is not the first one and probably not the last one. 

I remember they were prepping to implode on (maybe that one) when I was there last September.  Always fun to watch things go boom.

Oh darn, I have some great memories from this hotel.

I've seen quite a few similar videos --- Las Vegas is always re-inventing itself.

Truly fascinating.  I would not have wanted to be anywhere near it when it "imploded" .... or was demolished. Fred Griffin - the video brought back memories of the twin towers on 9-11.  

The buildings looked in pretty good shape to me but I guess the developer has bigger and better in mind.

Now I've seen it! Impressive demolition. I'm sure that freed up real estate will be used as soon as possible!
