We use virtual assistants for many things. Once a quarter I take a notebook, and keep track of all of my tasks I do each day. At the end of two weeks, I go through them and circle the ones I don't need to be doing, that someone else can be trained to do. Then I go back through and highlight the ones someone already knows how to do with yellow- those I delegate first. Then I highlight the ones I can create a tutorial for and a system for in green, then over the next month I will create the system and then the tutorials on those tasks. Then I delegate those to my virtual assistants. I have 2 executive assistants, who are virtual too, they are working the same time we are open on chat on gmail to work together with. Then I have others who do marketing, listing syndications, market reports, social postings to hootsuite, running hootsuite for us, appointments, calendars, all kinds of tasks. Anything that an unlicenced person can do. 

I've never hired anyone other Nestor & Katerina Gasset (Katerina) to get me on track with my online marketing.... 

My Transaction Coordinator works virtually but that's it

I have a virtual marketing department, I've used virtual assitants for special projects, my TC is essential virtual too, although local if I need to meet with her. 

I don't do virtuals although I know some seem to have good experience with them - personally, I don't trust virtuals unless I know them

I have looked into VA's several times and found that the price break was not significant and would not pay for the PIA of dealing with a long distance relationship and language issues.

Nope, had a bad experience once with someone who was supposed to do some WP work for me & she turned out to be in the Phillipines.

The VT company in my area charges a retainer & I said no thanks.

We have had virtual assistants for research and other functions for ourselves and our clients.  Our web developer is virtual, and our graphic designer who we met in Napa is now in Oklahoma, and we still work with her.
