Yes I have. Some were just hateful personalities. I am a very nice person and I won't tolerate meanness.

It hasn't happened many times but when the working relationship isn't going anywhere it is time to part ways and use your time on more productive activities.

More than once... and they deserved it. Each time I should have done it sooner.

I've done it a couple of times, and once I felt badly months later when I realized the client had been showing early Alzheimers symptoms.

Both buyers and sellers. Often not worth the time.

Yes, several times. Definitely no need to relive the experience. It was enough when I fired them.

Yes, I was getting nowhere with her, she was totally unrealistic about prices.

There have been a few that we suggested a competitor to, if they come back later is is a much better relationship.

I fired one seller in 38 years!!! all went well through the listing presentation and the signing of the agreement.... I no sooner left the home and the phone calls started coming in with DEMANDS IN A RUDE TONE.... honestly, only one hour after I left the property.... it was an early morning signing.... we all went to work after the signing....
I immediately returned to the home; removed the lockbox and returned the key...removed my sign....and canceled the listing in MLS.... called them and told them I did all of that....and wished him well...and hung up immediately.
he listed with another agent in my office and I watched and listened to the stories of abuse for 30 days....the property finally went pending....
THERE'S NO LISTING OR COMMISSION THAT'S WORTH ONE MINUTE OF DISRESPECT AND VERBAL ABUSE.... NOT TO ME!!!! I WON'T TAKE IT....
once out of 38 years and hundreds and hundreds of listings is a good ratio.....

It happens. The reasons can be different, but I always stay professional and thank them for the opportunity. You never know, they can come back or refer someone to you.

Yes. Seller was totally unreasonable, became rude and demanding. I suggested we terminate our agreement. She agreed.

Yes, I was relieved. They will not put EMD after an offer is accepted. They said we will think about it. I warned them their 72 hours is up, after showing 50 estates.
I had to apologize to the listing agent. He was not as upset as I feared.

You bet once because the price was too high and they would not come down. The only other time is that my gut told me the client was up to no good, which turned out to be true

It's not always easy but better than realizing that it should have happened sooner than later.

Have a thought but haven't done that. Especially on the one who "knows" what they are doing and they "think" they are better/smarter. Hard headed..

Sometimes you just have to say "Its not you its me" and have to move on
