I know most agents here don't like them, but I don't mind them. Often, I see something that gives me an idea for a client. Our mls has well over 10,000 listings and it's easy to miss something.

I think the goal of the "Weekly Update" for most of my clients isn't just about sharing information on listings but also creating brand/name recognition. You will start to associate a certain market with a specific Realtor / Brokerage and immediately think to call them for advice and help when it comes to that area. Co-listing? Call XYZ! Need more info on a property? Call XYZ! Grab a coffee and talk shop? Call XYZ!

They are annoying SPAM that assume we are too dim to digest the MLS each day! I report them too.

I don't mind them if they are informational, like a drastic price change or a very unique property!

It's part of the job. Sometimes, they are helpful. You can always Unsubscribe

Not a fan at all - they go in the trash and get spammed so I don't receive anything else for the agent

Bothersome, why do we have the MLS then?
Never want to receive them.

I review all changes in status in my MLS every morning, so I already know about new listings, homes under contract, sales, expireds, price changes, etc. Open houses are also in my MLS so if I want to know what they are, I can look. I don't find a lot of value-add in the weekly or as-needed updates.

This is a great question. I think if you put some value add to the email it would be more welcome... Any market updates you could share in the email? Include them. Yes, all Realtors have access to this on the MLS however, time is money and any help is always welcome.
Also, I like what you said in the comments about name/brand recognition. That is definitely the goal of any email marketing campaign.

WAAAAAY beyond bothersome! In my market. they are totally out of control. It's more like daily updates on individual listings.

Cristal, I find them annoying and I mark them as spam and delete them. Unsubscribing seldom works.
The general consensus is "If I'm looking for a property matching the one you're sending out, I'll find it in the MLS because I'm looking daily for my clients." The only time they are beneficial are when it is a pocket listing, not in the MLS.

These are from RE marketing firms who have everyone's account. Brokerages do not send out to keep internet traffic uncluttered.
They ar effective for high end like estates where flyers can show better than mls.

Cristal Clark I want to receive commercial real estate emails because a good portion are not listed in the MLS.

Unless an email has a purpose and by that I mean to me, what is the point?

I would prefer one email with all the company updates as opposed to each, individual agent sending their own out. Many times the agents are not very technology proficient and have to send out corrected links etc... Too time consuming to go through them all.

Goes in the spam folder and if there is an unsubscribe I use it - although most agents fail by not having one in which case they get blocked compeletely

I hate getting loads of unrequested emails from brokers and if anything works against them as i hit the spam button on everything where they may have caught someones attention if they limited their spam

I've heard that they are super annoying to most realtors. They are duplicative of what's in the mls. It's one of the most common complaints that agents have about other agents.

The MLS has all the info. Your types of emails will cause the email addresses to be permanently blocked and likely reported.
