I'm in a luxury home (leased), have the ultimate shower with slab walls. It's now my preference.

I have white subway tile in mine, and whatever they used for grout is still snow white after six years. The floors and counters are Carrera marble.

Tiles for sure. They look MUCH nicer. I've never seen slabs in bathroom, esp not in luxury homes. I hear you in terms of ease of cleaning, but I don't think I'd want to sacrifice the look.

I think it really is personal choice. I could go with either, but personally still prefer the look of tiles.

Depends on how much you want to spend.
Also plenty of good cleansers out there to clean that grout.

Sally K. & David L. Hanson - I like tiles - with differnet designs. (Should match with other decor)

Agree, the water will benetrate into inside causing tiles to fall out. Big time section 1 repair cost. Plastics are OK also.

That is a tough decision but cost is usually the deciding factor...slab if the budget allows.

If the money is there the slabs of quartz look awesome and would be my preference.

The subway and mosiac tiles are very beautiful, though a slab of quartz is beautiful also. Totally agree with having no grout to clean, but thin grout doesn't seem to be as difficult as wider grout. Let us know which you select Sally K. & David L. Hanson, as I'm sure it will be awesome!

I haven't seen the slabs before, but it sounds interesting and luxurious. I don't worry about grout to clean... I have a cleaning crew.

Low maintenance at some point visits with a person. Oh what joy when it does. Until then, you live & learn, experiment and adapt.

Sally K. & David L. Hanson Not having to deal with grout lines is a big plus.

I like the slab look myself, but if cost was a factor I think tile is fine

If the choices aren't countless, they certainly seem to be to me. I think it's a matter of personal opinion and the person who does the cleaning. Good luck and show us the finished product.

In my Midwest area we are doing larger rectangular tiles 6x18ish or so staggered. I like it & as you say less grout lines to clean or mess with.

I would love a slab if someone wanted to test it in my bath? My grout seems like a never ending battle to stay clean
