I do not choose the weapons. They text me and I text me and I text back. The word is changing

It's one way to communicate and it works for some and works for me if that is what they choose. I use it for many clients as they choose that for communicating.
I have an auto signature just like an email so there is identity.
It's a good way for a quick message and in today it works for many.
If someone wants to communicate via email or phone we use that.
Whatever works.

It is the way the majority of my clients want to communicate. I always ask how they want me to reach them and overwhelmingly in all age categories they tell me they prefer text. Even my last seller clients in their late 70's ask me to text them with updates and all information.

We do it every single day ... like it or not ... it's here to stay and it seems to be the most popular form of communication with people in all age groups.

That's what many of my clients want. We can text a short note and get an instant answer, rather than starting a phone call that is never that short. I also get texts in the evenings which I can quickly answer without disrupting my evening plans.

It's not disapproved or invalid. I don't like conducting negotiations via text, but that's life now and we have move with the times.

I use the phone a lot but texting is perfect for many situations. A real time saver for confirming appointments, acknowledging an email or time sensitive request. Texting between agents, lenders and the title company makes us much more efficient.

Yes & now that we have the ability to take screen photos it's ok with me. That's how to protect yourself if anything gets 'misconstrued'.
I'm not sure if it's been court tested to be honest, maybe someone else could chime in on that.

You need to work with the way your clients communicate. Many seniors do not use texting.

Peter Mohylsky - some do believe that responding to an online lead via text is a good idea. I still feel, meeting face-2-face is the best.

Peter,
If beach volley ball is an Olympic sport, then text is an approved way of conducting business.
796,739
Absolutely! Texting is universal. Millennials love it and 80 year olds do it well.

Most of my present communication is via texts, emails and DMs. People do not want to talk anymore... or do not know how( younger clients all prefer digital conversations).
3,764,591
Texting has its place, but I prefer emails for anything where I need a written history, and (I'm showing my age here) the telephone when I do not. Texting is OK and a necessary evil if that is how the client wants to communicate.

I use text heavily now. I've developed a good system so every text is documented and mine are always automatically signed.

I do text with clients, My question was really focused on a fellow realtor who sent multipage texts about a active contrat when one phone call would have served the point and answered all the questions,

Hi Peter - We always cover how our clients want to communicate at our first meeting. Text is usually preferred for the simpler, everyday stuff.

I don't text myself, I receive them but I have an old style phone and can't stand texting on it so I return the call if it's important
1,014,538
I receive a lot of texts and usually end up calling them back to get the information I need.

Peter Mohylsky I think it is an acceptable and preferred method by many today.

I dont like it, but many people insist on it, sometimes I play along, other times I insist that they show their face, or at least tell me their name.
2,873,448
Gets right to the point instantly and allows for point clarity as well. Go text!

I always ask the client on how we should communicate with each other. I prefer telephone communication since I find it more personal.
5,585,039
no...I do not think texting is a valid way of communicating important information...
1,395,083
When we're with clients, we don't take phone calls as a rule. If an agent needs to reach us, it's much more convenient for them to text us so we can respond in our own time. We also have many clients who prefer texts over phone calls for the same reason.
5,561,993
Personally, not eally. That said, some people prefer that method of contact!
1,713,581
Yes it is. And more considerate many times since phone calls can disturb something you are doing.
5,180,649
Usually go with the preference of the client. Most younger people prefer texting.
3,074,716
Now that there is a way of saving the text chain to a permanent file for the communication log - yes - although I rarely text from my phone - usually from my iMac through iMessage...
1,269,349
yes. if you text someone he is not responding. He is not interested or just ignoring ur call, or eMail.
