I friend other local agents whom I know well. I prefer to friend local agents on LinkedIn rather than on Facebook, however.

I welcome anyone to join my social media and I support all my felow agents, remember we are all in the same industry and it's so much easier to work and negotiate with a friendly agent on the other side. 

That's just my opinion and how I choose to conduct myself. 

I do support other agents on their social media sites and even ones in my own town. Often I have become friends with them and would not have known them without our interaction on our sites.  Those agents who I support out of town have often referred me clients, even going around their company relocation networks. There is a bond that we share by being on social media and supporting each other.

I will friend friends ... if they happen to be agents ... so be it. 

No I do not. Anyone in my market I try not to because I don't want to see all their real estate nonsense in my FB feed.

LinkedIn is for referrals only & I don't need any local agents in that contact list. 

I do know of a pretty prominent agent that asks questions to a group on FB & I was a little taken aback that that was the 'go to' for help?

Social meida is just another form of networking.  Why on earth wouldn't someone want to network with as many local agents as they could?

It depends. Like anyone, if I like what I see and read I will be friends with them...many I already am in real life! I am less likely to do do on LinkedIn

I tend to use LinkedIn for interactions with real estate agents and Facebook for family and friends.

Will I retweet or share their Listings?  No.

Real estate is a team sport. I always network with other agents in my local market. If I have a deal, I start calling my network to ensure it closes quickly.

I friend other agents and want to know what they are doing and is going on. I do not want to see real estate promoted on personal Facebook pages and I will unfriend in a minute.

That is kind of mean.

I do not discriminate. I accept everyone everywhere. But I might not follow those Realtors/or other professional who post ONLY work related updates on personal FB page. I want to know who the person is and not only what they do. 

Generally, I do not friend other agents.  I did recently friend one who I am actually friendly with.  I will do a LinkedIn with them, but not Facebook... in general.

No, I do not friend other Agents on other social media sites. What I say to my clients and how I market are not for them.

I think it's okay and I have friended many other agents on FB. 

Remember, everything on social media is "public."  Unless you mark your profile, 'private' and even then it's not always private. 

I friend and I un-friend depending on how they play.  There are filters to work with on SM so it can be controlled.  I have nothing to hide and until I see a reason not to friend, I will selectively...Friend!

I have "friended" some on my personal site but I don't "like" their business page.   There was a real estate social media class I attended once that said we should not have any local real estate "friends" online.  I'm not a big fan of most absolutes...notice I didn't say all...lol.

I friend local agents - we're all in the same ship. When they post listings, I share them and vice versa. 

I have friends from other brokers on my fb site. Not woried about it.

It is important to get along with your competitors, those people who treat everyone like the enemy are toxic to the profession.

I interact with my competitors on social media all the time, and they send me business too.

I friend hundreds of agents from Active Rain & Buffini as well as my local associates. Why not? I only post clean good stuff and the Internet is a fishbowl anyhow. I get so much business from other agents, many are considered my A+ clients. To each their own, if I wanted to keep secrets I wouldn't post anything online. Abundance mentality I suppose.

I unfriend agents I do not know on mine.

It depends upon the objectives of the agent.

My area is very small, so no I don't - if I were in a larger area I proabably would. - too many agents in my area have stolen my ideas and marketing methods for me to show them anything anymore

Adam Elswick - I'd say, it depends. I do not mind being friends with some - even on Social Media.

I'm friends with agents and lenders online if I'm personally friends outside of social media.  As far as out of state agents and vendors? Yes a few.  

I have no problem friending other agents on social media sites that are worthy of being my friends.
