Thankfully, good people do outnumber the bad.

I agree with Roy Kelley - the good far outweighs the not so good. I focus on the good and on doing good.

Yes, This country has drifted away fron God and the American way. Hate groups are stirring up trouble left and right. We all need to get along, life is way too short to hate anyone !!

People are scared. The nation is in crisis and it's filtering into every day life. That said, Roy Kelley is right... the good people outnumber the bad. It only takes one bad apple, though, to begin the rotting process for the whole barrel... unless that bad apple is removed. Just sayin'

It has been happening for years. People are not the same as they were when I came in the business 36 years ago. The biggest change has happened in the last 5 years

It sure seems that way Dennis Swartz doesn't it. It is more heightened during election years IMO, but also, people on social media think they can say anything they want just to get people's blood boiling and get more responses. Respect has gone out the window and we need to learn to respect others again

I still want to believe in the good of people however, I do notice that boundaries seem to missing all together or are simply out further than I remember being tolerated "back in the day". I think it has a lot to do with the "entitlement era"... I'll spare you and everyone else from more of my thoughts. ;)

It's become popular to state the outlandish.

Shut the hell up Dennis. I have no time for these stupid, meaningless questions! Oops, was that mean, edgy and outspoken? LOL. Kidding!!! Ha, ha, ha.
With the exception of a few "activist" groups, people have not become meaner, edgier and more outspoken. It's just that cell phone cameras, social media, the internet and YouTube have shed some light on people's less attractive moments. We all remember that neighbor that we never spoke to or spoke about (the crazy alligator lady on Boerum Street in Williamsburg Brooklyn - 1980's and 1990's). If YouTube had been around in the 80's, she would have gone viral!

There are some wonderful people out there. And they are smart enough not to run for public office!

Being a "keyboard warrior" allows people to be rude, crude and offensive in ways that they would never be to someone's face. It has also spilled over to phone calls, to some degree. Also, I believe that increased stress and the violence displayed and even glorified by the media has lead to an increase in this mentality.

I'm not quite sure about different areas, but my answer is negative for SF Bay Area. I think the reason some agents think that the people are getting meaner is that there is a crazy competition going on between realtor, and all agents are trying to get clients, no matter if they have a realtor already. I think the best strategy is to set client expectations from the begining.

I'm not sure but social media as well as the 24 hour news cycle certainly provides an opportunity for "voices" to be heard.

Looks like it's time for Super-Active-Listener-(Wo)Man. De-escalation comes with quiet voices even when they are shouting, and repeating their key points so they know they have been heard. Hold your ground and keep your calm.

Life is testy..social media screams out daily and its up to us to not let them stoke fires that don't need to be stoked!

No, we're just more aware of this because of TV and Social Media. They were always out there...if you choose to look for them and bother to give them an audience. I do not.

It does seem that those from one side bash anyone who does not agree with them. You do not have to look far from FB to the comments on news sites.

I haven't personally experienced this. Then again, I also think with all the pc-crap out there people are becoming less outspoken because they are afraid to say anything.
