Many agents are just very lazy.

The laundry list of reasons is long.  Lazy, Incompetent, Untrained, Don't Care, Too Busy, Too Stupid, they own it all even if they don't realize it.  

that's a listing agent who is not thinking about the details of showing their listing....they just want to get their paperwork and online work done!!! very sloppy....

I think knowing if there is an angry pet is important. Agent stupidity.

LOL - I feel your pain Paul - it's amazing to me how little some agents want to do to make a living!

The agent is not doing a good job, not even close with that kind of misinformation.

 How about this from one I showed this morning  . . .  if bedroom door closed, Seller is sleeping and do not enter!

Sounds like real estate is a part time dalliance for that agent. We feel your frustration.

Paul - There are some agents who are not very responsible with the details. All they care about is getting the listing and making money on the sale. Everything in between is not important, and that is why we get a bad rap.

That listing agent needs a wake up call! Nobody wants a surprise when showing a property. 

I will never understand some agent Paul.  Makes sense that they would.

I do not enter homes without doing research to avoid alarm activations.

The same type of agents who dont place photos in their listing. Who when they do take pics, they take with heir phone up and down.

Maybe they really do not want showings an are trying to make the sale themselves.

Probably just forgetful and unorganized, though a few are lazy too.

I have one agent in my market who has told me twice a home was vacant only for me to find someone IN the house.  Sigh.

Once the security alarm went off - and here comes police....

However, our job is to show the homes to our buyers and get as much information for showing from the listing agent, even when they don't provide it in MLS - or elsewhere.e

Agents in my area are pretty good about having good showing instructions. 

I showed a house a couple of weeks ago and the showing center was unaware of the alarm and the agent was too. So maybe the sellers are keeping it a secret.

Yikes! This is the perfect place to alert colleagues of a Realtor eating dog! 

Yikes!  There is definitely no cure for stupid!

Why?  Because they are stupid and lazy!  That's all I have to say about that!

Paul because they're not that smart?  It only makes sense to make stuff like this STAND OUT.  It takes what - an extra minute? 

I can think of several reasons - laziness, not thinking proactively, not checking the listing after someone else entered it.

the pet wasn't angry, until you set off the alarm.
