Rarely. It gets expensive and I worry about food getting dropped on carpets. I don't think people care all that much

There is potential liability in case of allergic reactions, etc.  I would also respectfully ask people to eat outside any food they have brought, and take their apple core with them, please.  Give them some tissues to wrap it and take away.  Don't throw your garbage in this back yard.

The question to ask is:  if I do this (e.g., provide food), is it going to add focus to the house itself?  For me, food and drink do not.  They draw the focus to the food and drink.  So in addition to the mess, the visitor isn't even fully shopping.  If they are starving, view the house, take some phone photos and go discuss over coffee and whatever.

I use to but quit doing it. i keep thinking some kid that is allergic to chocolate or peanuts will grab some treat and have an attack, then parents will want to sue me and the owner. I decided it's best to just remove that risk.
