Questions are like tweets, short and sweet and you can write an answer quickly. I think the Q&A has taken away from blog post comments. There is only so much time.

I visit the Q & A first because I'm still learning so much and enjoy the variety of answers from agents everywhere.  Blogs take longer to read and comment on. I find myself in the blog section reading longer and don't comment often.

I have had good results with both options, I have found that if you give you will get it back. People who see loyal followers with comments or answers will (usually) give back with a comment to your blog or answer to a question.

I go to the questions when I haven't much time...which is most of the time, lately.  You can learn a lot, it's entertaining often, and with so many of the same people responding, it's like a large class of people who have worked together all year and are gelling as good working buddies.

If you spend more time reading the questions of others than the blogs of others, then you are in the same camp as I.

Q's are simple, quick to read and easy to move on and touch multiple agents.

Some agents blogs are so long and have so much advertising it's hard to distinguish their blog content from their advertising

I won't even read those kinds of blogs

I can think of a couple of reasons. Blogs are long and take longer to read and to leave a comment on, also there are a lot more blogs than quesstions, so all blogs are not going to get comments, especially blogs that are meant to draw in clients.

Because you can read a question in a few seconds and answer in most cases rather quickly. Blog posts take time to read. Many blog posts do not catch the interest of people either.

There are so many blog posts that it is also much tougher to figure out which ones you will read or not.

This medium is more engagement-friendly by its very nature. Blogs don't ask for your opinion; they provide an opinion. When opinions are sought, as they are in this section, folks are naturally more inclined to respond.

Hi Peter,
Like many others have said, it's a time issue for most of us.  So much easier to read a quick question and respond... plus we all like to give our opinions!  LOL   I think time is an issue for everyone these days.  That's why I've trended toward shorter blog posts.  Short and sweet, as they say.

As for the comments on your blogs, you shouldn't really care about comments from US.  You are an agent.  You are building an archive of content for prospects. Focus only on what THEY want to read.   Over time, as your content gets indexed, the public (your intended target) will read.  This may not bring comments on the blog, but it will lead to business as you show your expertise through your blog.

Good luck, Paul!

Actually I check the Q & A daily, and answer back what I know, have time for, and/or find entertaining Peter Mohylsky.  Having less time now to read Blogs, even from those that I follow, so when I do, I don't always reply back.  I know that alot of thought goes into some Blogs, and I can appreciate that!  I'm usually giving lengthy replies and/or answers, so it takes more time than just a one word . . .  I know it's hard to come up with interesting Blog topics for me, and I find the questions easier, because they can apply to what is happening with me, work wise, that day.

If you blog a general topic like commission, appointment-no shows, buyer went to that hateful agent you will get lots of comments as all of us relate well.

If you post I have a lot for sale.  You get "0" response.

I posted my blog on "Can realtors work as double agents?" I got 32 eMail elseswhere and just 18 responded at AR. 1 call from Florida.

Keep in mind Google likes blogs that are 150 words or longer to get indexed better.
