They are not rich enough to be on their own. Often get parental help that is the worst kind of buyers. Painful as too many people want to have say so.
I rarely work with them. Not worth the referral or recommendation from anyone.

I'm sure after they post a selfie on Instagram and crowdsource it to 1000000 of their BFFs, they'll let us know! LOL!

They should be bright enough to know they both mean the same thing. Then again, they are the generation that needs crisis counsellors when they see "Trump 2016" written in chalk on a free speech board in college...
Since houses cost money and they haven't yet started asking for those to be free, I haven't had to work with them.

I doubt that anyone can accurately or fairly generalize what Millennials "prefer".

The world and language are always changing. Recommendations may be taking the place of referrals. Maybe even a thumbs up. Or an emoji.

Millennials do prefer the the word recommendation..they feel the word referral is too corporate! Millennials will surprise you as their average credit score is 700!!

Dorie Dillard anything goes! Though I think they are okay with Referrals.

I'm not really sure if they mind either, but referral seems universal for any age.

I would guess recommendation because they like to make up their own minds and do it their way.

I haven't a clue. I'll ask the ones I know and wait for them to text me.

Good question, though I have three kids who are in this group, I still do not know how to market to the group.

Heck if I know. We've helped many of that younger generation lately and have received many referrals from them. I disagree with Sam Shueh 's comments.

My kids use recommendation all the time; took a while but the old guy caught on! And I have no problem working with them as I do not need the hearing aids as they do not call.

I'm with my pal Sam Shueh on this one. Millenials rarely have the funds to purchase homes here in California UNLESS, of course, they have parental help and that does complicate the purchase greatly. The generation directly BEFORE Millenials (Gen Y is it?) seem to use the word "recommendation" with me all the time.
