We all know about the troubles in Ft. McMurray and, it is sad about the losses that many in F. McMurray have endured, particularly the Police Chief's daughter lost in a traffic accident while fleeing the fires.

I have in Virginia and I am so sorry for all the folks who are inconvenienced or worse as a result.   Please support and take care of the fire fighters that are risking their lives to stop it.

It's been on news here in VA since it started. They are getting some rain now that should help, but already hundreds of homes have been destroyed.

Sorry to hear of the fires Robert, I did not hear of them on the news, just from a few Canadian friends on FB.

Yes, it's being covered nightly by our national as well as local news broadcasts.

yes its on our local news every night, but we are a snowbird connection and we have alot of Canadian's with second homes. We know aq few people personally that have been effected.

Shocking tragedy

I have heard a lot about htis fire and seen much smoke in my air here in Minnesota

I heard it on NPR.  Fires are freakin' scary!

Yes, I've been seeing it on the TV Evening News here in Arizona, for days now Robert May - both horrendous pictures and newscasters broadcasting live.  The devastation and loss is incredible . . .  very, very sad . . .  stay safe!! 

I believe CA fire always have some kind of wild fires going on...

Tragic.

I'm in No Cal, and its been appearing on local news for the past three days now. However, prior to that, on the same day as evacuations began, I was hearing about it on Facebook and Twitter.  I have 2000 plus friends on Facebook (many from Canada) so we were all reading of the news in shock from the devastation.

My hopes and prayers for a quick closure to the fires and the safe return of everyone in the area.
