Personally, I'm able to motivate myself and everything I need to learn is at my fingertips. 

I think it depends on what you brought to the table when you began your new business.  I run a business on referrals and repeat business.

I haven't used a coach and been very successful.  In my mind, if you can't motivate yourself and it needs to come from an external force, that's not a good place to start.

Yes, I've had 5 Coaches in succession, in all 17 years of my career so far.

Mentors: I have 3 I rotate through.

I'd never do this alone, there's too much to learn and I need the push.

Brian Buffini currently & Staff, in the past: Michael Gerber (E-myth) and  Larry Kendall (Ninja Selling) have been my coaches, among others.

My whole business plan & referral system that provides me 95% of my business came through coaching.

Heidi Marshall my mentor/coach was my broker for many. many years.  Today he is retired and now a good friend.

we utilize a coach, we find it valuable to brainstorm and get unbiased feedback and a fresh perspective, especially from someone who has exposure to so many top producers. Better to learn from others mistakes than have to make them yourself.

For us it wasn't so much of an income gap we were trying to bridge as it was a streamlining, quality of life we are trying to attain.

Yes I have a mentor

I don't believe that I was have a coach, and certainly not one tied to the real estate sphere, but I do think about a mentor in an unrelated industry, but one that is entrepreneurial like mine. 

Right now, I do listen to several podcasts that are very "mentoring" it their purpose, with a heavy focus in marketing, and entrepreneurship. They have really helped me, especially during the "challenging" times.

I will watch the thread to learn others thoughts.

No coach has ever convinved me that that what they provide is worth the ongoing costs of having a coach. I just attended a webinar from one of the top coaching companies, and although some of it sounded good, most of it sounded pretty basic. The one good thing they mentioned is, you can cancel anytime without penalty. I think a lot of it is the personalities of the coach and person being coached have to feel a connection and be a good match.

I don't work with a coach.  I think it's about accountability.  I have thought about it.. Some people do well using videos and forums.  Depends on what you feel you would benefit from.

I started with an office that had two dozen agents.  Several of them were quite experienced.  I gravitated toward them, they mentored me; I learned great things.

I do not have a coach but I do watch other agents and have for years and they serve as mentors to me. I do the same for agents around me.

No coach or mentor any more.  I did have a mentor when I first began.  And, currently I'm fairly satisfied with my earnings.
